ESF lunches - 3 Vallées

We are thinking of booking our children (7&9) into to ESF lunch in Méribel. My question is has anyone done this? What are the lunches like? My 2 can be a bit fussy! Also if anyone has done did the children enjoy it?

My kids have been to various ESF schools over the years, including Meribel. In my experience, they're normally fed things like Steak Haché (basically a mince burger served without bun) and chips or pasta dishes like Spaghetti Bolognese. Or maybe French Onion Soup. The French attitude is "Like it or leave it", but they'll be so hungry after a morning's skiing that they'll probably eat whatever they're served! ESF won't go out of their way to cater for fussy children, unless they have dietary restrictions. Enjoy your trip!

PS. Yes, my kids did enjoy. It's much better for them to ski with children their own age and they can always join you for a few runs at the end of the day. Meribel ESF is large enough to have special groups for English-speaking kids and they'll make friends quickly. And you get adult time too! Mine are older now so we ski together (sometimes I'd love to go back to the days of ski school
🤣), but it gives them a great grounding and confidence in skiing.

Children tend to be fussiest with their parents - because they can be. And they tend to be a lot less so after physical activity outside - when they are hungry and everybody is eating away.
That said - it’s France and food would certainly be better than whatever food they are fed in their UK schools.

It’s unlikely to be onion soup as main dish. There will be protein and chips, or pasta of some sort)
And they’ll learn to ski too 🤗.

I wouldn't worry (or put any negative ideas into their heads). After a mornings skiing they're not likely to be very fussy & will just eat it with other kids.

I worked as a resort manager for several years, some of my happiest were in meribel, I'm envious at you going!

I can't even visit now, let alone Ski 🥲

enjoy some runs & apres ski for me!!
