Alternatives to Club Med

Looking to book a ski trip for Easter 2026 (so needs to be high) for family of four with two primary aged kids who haven’t skied before. Club Med looks excellent in terms of convenience but we’d rather go to Italy or Austria. Key things we are looking for:

Reasonable transfer time (within 2.5 hours).
Kids club, and (probably most important) a service where the kids club will get the kids to and from their lessons and provide lunch.
Either ski in/out or within a few minutes walk to main lifts.
Swimming pool (not a deal breaker).
Somewhere that does guided groups for adults would be good as OH are different levels so would each want people to ski with.

Keen to hear recommendations for both resorts and specific hotels if possible. I know it sounds like we should just go Club Med, but would like to try somewhere other than France.

There’s a Club Med in Sestiere in Italy, have you look at that and discounted it?

It doesn’t look to be taking bookings that late in the season so I don’t think it’s an early April option unfortunately. Cervinia would have been great but that closed a few years ago.

I’ve skied in Sestriere early April and it wasn’t great. Sorry I don’t have any Club Med type recommendations.

Champoluc with Ski Champoluc. Private transfers (1.5 hours from Turin, 2 from Milan) v family friendly and great ski school.

Try ski famille, although in France, they do have chalets in Les menuires which is just below Val throrens and Tignes which are both high. If you have your heart set on Austria or Italy, try kinder hotels. Have many hotels in Austria and a few in Italy, although resort height may be more of an issue in Italy and Austria.

I can only really think of Powder Byrne that does all this ferrying and feeding of kids and different groups for adult abilities under one roof. They do some holidays at Easter although busiest at half term. They charge like the proverbial wounded rhino though.

Thank you all for the suggestions, I’ll take a look.
