Snowboard holidays help

We are beginners looking to go snowboarding, 2 adults and a current 13 year old. We are looking for daily morning lessons, somewhere beginner friendly and good for families.
Can anyone recommend anywhere?
What is the best time to go, ideally we wanted to go just after Christmas, is that a good time to go?
We have looked at Crystal holidays as they seem to be a good one stop shop to book everything in one go. Is this a terrible idea? Our budget is about 5k for (but we could increase if needed) plus food and drink and we would like to go for between 5 and 7 days.
What board basis do you recommend?

As complete beginners, booking with a tour operator such as Crystal, Inghams or Heidi etc is a very good idea as they organise the accommodation, flights, transfers, ski and snowboard rental, lessons, lift passes etc.

You could literally go anywhere in France, Italy or Austria but as beginners you don't need a big resort that has an expensive lift-pass that covers hundreds of km of pistes. Somewhere smaller is perfectly adequate.

Most tour operator holidays are 7 days, Saturday to Saturday. The week after Christmas - i.e. the New Year week - is probably the most expensive week of the entire season apart from February half-term. Presumably you are limited to school holiday times. Half-board is a good option - you can eat on the mountain at lunchtime and don't need to think about finding and booking a restaurant in the evening.

On top of the cost of the holiday you'll need to factor in the lift passes (allow up to £1,000 in total for 3 people), hire of board and boots (£150 per person for a week) and lessons (£200 per lesson if you can share an instructor) - all prices approx. but these essential items can easily add up to another £2,000 on top of the basic price of the holiday.

@Havanananana that's great thank you. Yeah we are bound by school holidays so don't mind paying more. In terms of snow etc is one week better than the other in terms of Xmas Vs Feb half term?

Go for high altitude and/or glacier with nursery slope and easy runs above 1200m. It might be cold and icy, with short days.

Half term is likely busier with kids and beginners. New Year tends to attract more locals.
