Has anyone done a singles ski-ing holiday? (50ish rather than Club 18-30.)

Hi I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but just back from this ladies only trip www.pilaski.co.uk/images/PDF/Ladies-Only.pdf which I would highly recommend.
There were 5 of us all came on our own aged 40s-50s. Great option if you're looking for a small group.

Interesting, thanks, though I'm not into gendered anything.

That’s a bit dismissive! Perhaps you could give a little more guidance if you have a clear idea what you’re after already? Are you looking for meeting people of both sexes on a ski holiday? What about the skiing, are you looking for training and are you a certain standard already? Age is also relevant as some group trips tend to attract older people and some younger.
From a walk through GVA at this last weekend it was 90% groups of boys’ trips so there are good reasons why many women like to learn in the company of others! But everyone has their own preferences I guess

I’ve just come back from a trip with Hucksters - https://hucksterslodge.co/

They’re at the cheap and cheerful end, but have their own accommodation in Les Arcs so lots of mixing etc. Was my first trip with them and was really impressed by how care they took. Majority of the clients are 40+. 🙂

No personal experience but a friend travelled with this company and it seemed to work well: https://www.theskigathering.com/index.php

She said it was solo skiers rather than singles - lots of people had non-skiing partners so were there solo but not single IYSWIM. No idea whether that would be a pro or a con for you.

@rookiemere I saw photos of this on Facebook as my DS is working out in Pila at the moment. Looked fantastic and it's such lovely skiing there.

rookiemere · 30/01/2024 19:57

@massistar the skiing was great, so much snow !
I usually do a long weekend with some friends near Geneva but the snow last year was very disappointing.

Pilaski also does a couple of non ladies only weeks. There is a skis testing one where you can try out different skis and one run by an ex Olympic skier. I should have mentioned these in my previous post, but didn't realise ladies only would be an issue.

@rookiemere It makes me happy to see things like this. As a single mum to one child I'm starting to think what I might do for holidays when she no longer wants to join me.

rookiemere · 30/01/2024 20:03

@Borris it was lovely if you wanted to be looked after. Carole got our coffees and took our lunch orders and there was ski guiding and a wine tasting evening.
All of us attending had come on our own, so it wasn't intimidating.

massistar · 30/01/2024 20:04

@rookiemere it seems to have its own microclimate. We had superb snow when we there at the start of January and DS has skiied pretty much every day since the start of December!

Apologies for derailing OP!
