Ski trip for 17 year olds

Just got news today that the school ski trip isn't going ahead. DS 17 was really looking forward to it as it is his last year at school.
I've had a look for options that he and his pals could go on as a group- there is UCPA but they would need to make their own way to Valloire which seems a bit tricky.

Any other options? Unfortunately none of them will be over 18 at Feb half term time.

They don't qualify for UCPA Valloire unless they have an adult going with them and they go when it's 'family week'. Their website clearly stated that they don't have any weeks for under 18s except for family weeks.

Ah thanks for explaining @HundredMilesAnHour, so they don't have that option either.

Scotland?

I know the weather can be unpredictable, but we had a fab time in Aviemore last February half term. Very easy to get to by sleeper train from London (if you're in London).

Not many places will hire accommodation to U18s without an adult.
I don't blame them, tbh.

Plus, won't they be in the midst of mocks / revision by then ?

Youth hostels? Look for places lower down that can take a bus/bubble up to the good snow?
air bnb would be my first choice. brides st Bains is low but you get the cable car up to the slopes.

val thorens is a party town but really expensive.

Andorra, Bulgaria or Italy might be cheaper?

We're actually in Scotland but DS prefers skiing abroad - to be fair so do I usually although snow was good here last ski season.

I've given up on the idea for them. It would need to be relatively organised as having done it myself it's a faff getting separate transfers .
