Skiing and Non Ski Activities - Seeking resort

Can anyone recommend a good area with a range of activities for non-skiers? DH hates it (though will do the odd afternoon's beginners boarding & likes to ice skate) - the rest of the family love skiing, so I need things to lure him to a resort. Does anywhere fit this description? :)

Most larger resorts have activities for non skiers, Austria and Switzerland probably more attractive. Try Saas Fee, Zermatt, Seefeld, Zell am See, Kitzbuehel.

What sort of things might he like doing?

Ski resorts aren't hugely geared up for non-skiers, I'm afraid.

Can you afford Switzerland? Resorts in the Jungfrau region have a bit of sightseeing (go up the Jungfrau on the Wengen size and Piz Gloria on the Murren side. There are lots of (pisted) footpaths, suitable for hiking and snow-shoeing. Plus skating, curling, classes at the sports centre, swimming, and Interlaken within easy reach for a bit of browsing round a city

The bigger French resorts are also set up for climbers/cyclists and hikers - a town like Chamonix isn't as cute as the Austrian or Swiss resorts but is very well set up for non-skiers

We're going to Seefeld again in a few weeks. I'm the reluctant skier in our family (everybody else loves it) and I find plenty to do just pottering around. Look here www.seefeld.com/

We went to Saint Gervais with my in-laws just before COVID (literally the week it kicked off...). There's swimming, cafés, bars, the Mont Blanc train, walks, galleries, evening entertainment in the town square. It's not far from Sallanches and Chamonix for shops etc. There was plenty to do other than skiing.
Val d'Isere is another option with swimming, skating, snowshoeing etc, catch a bus down to Tignes or further. Morzine or Chatel would be similar.

Kitzbuhel (and adjacent villages). Non-skiing friend has been 3 times (with 3 different groups of skiers). She loves it. The tourist office put on loads of stuff - walking days, snowshoeing, visits to interesting places (schnapps distillery...). It's a lovely town too, also well connected by train to other places.

Zell am See might work too (good train links), but don't know about the activities side of things there.

Based on my experience in France, Austria and Italy, I'd go to an Austrian town (one that isn't just a ski resort).

If I wasnt sking I would bring along my laptop, and sit outside in the sun in a bar all day drinking Belgian beer and watching dramas on the streaming services. In fact I only tend to spend about 3 hours on the slopes, so the rest of the time is spent 'chilling' for me, along with my other half. I never get bored.
