1st time skiing

All first time skiers, 2 adults and 2 children (8 and 10).

I was looking at Clubmed as I like the idea that everything is on hand as we haven’t been before (although eye wateringly expensive). I’ve also looked at Mark Warner although they only seem to have one hotel.

Is the Clubmed ski school good and safe for DC? Is there another similar provider that I should look at?

All suggestions welcome!

Club Med is very French so if you’re British then the kids might prefer an English ski school. The main lure of CM, for me anyway, is with younger ones that won’t be skiing all day so you need wrap around childcare. I’m not sure with and 8 and 10 year old it’s necessarily the best value for money. Their food is really good though! I’ve done MW summer and wasn’t overly impressed with the standard of accommodation but never tried their ski offerings so can’t comment. I’d say that you’re right in thinking that a package is good for first timers though- Crystal is probably the biggest tour operator so could be a start. I would go to Scott Dunn if you want luxury and if you have a CM budget you could probably get something quite swanky!

Top tip- if you have a indoor snow centre within a reasonable distance then definitely book in for some lessons before you go. Just learning how to get the equipment on and off, use the drag lift and get a feel for it will put you in great stead.
