La Rosière - help!

Gosh I'm so excited to be posting on this board after several years of no skiing!

I'm taking my family skiing next Easter holidays. Kids are 9 and 10 and have never skied before. Im about to book an apartment in the residence Cimes Blanches in the Les Eucherts end of La Rosière through Peak Retreats and wondered if anyone had any personal experience of it. It looks lovely, but wanted to know how far it is to walk to the lifts? It says it's ski in/out but the total beginners won't be able to do this. I'm wavering between cimes blanches and another residence in La Rosière itself called Lodge Hemera which looks closer to the action in La Rosière itself - anyone stayed there?

Also any views on ESF vs EVO 2 specifically in La Ros? I would choose Evo 2 over ESF in other resorts but ESF in La Rosière seems to have a particularly good rep.

Many thanks for any help you can give!

We have stayed at Cimes Blanches. It's nice. There are various blocks of apartments and then a central reception block/ pool etc. It's about a 10 minute walk to the lifts in Les Eucherts - a fairly easy walk - or you can pick up the ski bus if you want the main slopes in La Ros or it's about a 25 minute walk through the woods into La Rosiere. We had a 15 year old and a 11 year old there and it was a bit of a pain because 11 year old had ski school in Les Eucherts but 15 year old was down in La Rosiere - so one of us had to take one and then walk with eldest through the woods to La Rosiere. So check which groups go from where. La Rosiere had both little ones up to older ones.

In Les Eucherts there is the ski shop, good supermarket, nice pizza restaurant, the ice rink. But it's a lot quieter than La Ros. The restaurant gets booked up so you need to book if you want a table.

We also stayed another time at Les Granges in La Rosiere - also a CGH residence. On balance - if you like going out then I'd say stay in La Rosiere. But if you like it a bit quieter and want to get out on the slopes quicker then stay at Les Eucherts.

Thank you all! I like the idea of being at the quieter Les Eucherts end. I've also been looking at the newer Alparena apartments next door to Cimes Blanches.

I'm revelling in the fact that once I've booked wherever I end up booking, I have nearly six delicious months of planning and getting excited 😄
