Any tips grateful received!

It'll be their first time flying too. We're going to France end of March (🤞🏻).

Eldest is 2.5. I've got her a ski suit and snow boots. Do I get her base layers? Or just layer up with leggings etc?

Youngest is nearly 10 months, she's be 2 weeks off her 1st bday. She's already taken her first steps so I expect she'll be properly walking by the time we go. I've got not idea what to dress her in. She's very time so shoes will be a nightmare to fine. Any ideas welcome?

Have you booked childcare for them? Otherwise there won’t be much skiing happening!

Something like this might be good for your little one?

Are you going to be skiing? Do you have childcare? Sounds like a bloody nightmare to me...

Where are you going? I'd hit the local decathlon when you get there for appropriate clothing/shoes. I would go with sallopets rather than snow suit, little one will need boots.

They'll need layers - the same as you + 1.

Base layers or woolly tights. Fleece jumpers. All in one snowsuits so no snow can get in (with salopettes and jackets the snow will get in when they inevitably fall over and it’s really uncomfortable.)

Proper snow boots. Lands End used to do them for kids. And long warm socks.

Hats and proper ski mittens. And enough changes of clothes too. And suitable sunglasses!

I wouldn’t bother with too many ‘proper’ clothes. DDs used to just run around in their ski underwear after they’d come in from the snow.

You’ll all have a brilliant time.

I hope you have childcare booked!! I always do leggings, long sleeved tee and jumper under the snowsuit. I wouldn’t personally buy base layers for a single trip if not actually skiing. But possibly I’m a bit blaze about the cold as when my eldest was a baby/toddler we lived in a particularly frigid part of the US so a mountain vacation was usually warmer than at home! Snow boots usually start from a size 3, if your youngest is smaller than that you could do 2 pairs of socks. You’ll also want proper waterproof mitten plus spares if they get wet and sunglasses for both.

We took DD when she had just turned 1, she wore thick tights, a thermal top, a t shirt, a fleecy all in one and her ski suit over the top. She wasn’t walking so was fine in her snowsuit boots but they wouldn’t have been enough if she’d been mobile. She’s about to turn three and we fly on Sunday for her first time skiing and I’m so bloody excited! She’ll be wearing thick tights, joggers and salopettes, and then a thermal top and thick fleece under her ski jacket.

😱 at the thought of doing this Grin
Hopefully you've booked them into the crèche!

Ds is 21 months. We live in the alps. He wears those knitted leggings from jojo mamam under salopettes. Then regular thick socks.

Don’t get the extra thick leggings, they are too cumbersome and thick around ankles if a fraction too long.

Ski huts are heated to about 28 degrees, so make sure layers so you can take off when eating.

I put mine (3 and 1) in leggings, vest, t-shirt, jumper/fleece under their snowsuits. If it was very cold I'd also put on a fleecy onesie. Don't forget scarf/balaclava for the older one and proper waterproof gloves that are long and therefore don't fall off are also v useful. Decathlon have good snow boots that start v small but I would also pair with thick ski socks which they sell as well.

Sorry for not replying. We've had gastroenteritis in our house 😩

We've got childcare booked!
