France enter and passé sanitaire

could someone please clarify?

Group of us skiing in France in 1/2 term postponed from Xmas. One child now double vac and second child just missed out on second due to catching Covid. Don't think we can get them vax in time.

Do they enter France along with us : 2 boosted adults but have to test every day? Or does a letter of recovery work instead to get passé sanitaire?

Presumably to enter France we all still need 24 hour antigen test and ministry letter and that is all now?

Thank you!

@OhCobblers this is such a frustrating situation to be in.

technically a young person under 16 who has had Covid +1 jab should not need a daily test in order to obtain a pass S in France.

However to get a PS both vaccination and recovery need to be proven using a QR code because the mechanism is via an app that reads a QR code.

At the current time England does not provide proof of vaccination or proof of recovery for this age category with a QR code.

You can currently get them proof of double vaccination via letter from 119. This does not include a QR code, and they will only send this letter if they have had both vaccinations regardless of any proof of recovery.

In addition there is no way to obtain proof of recovery for this age group with a QR code in England. Beware of private providers promising this. The QR code is not valid.

This is causing so much hassle and so many people are hoping that our government catches up and provides the necessary QR codes.

Some people are reporting that some pharmacies in France will provide a full pass s'Sanitere upon sight of these types of letters from 119 or your GP. However we haven't been able to track any down and so our 14-year-old will be unfortunately having daily testing.

Hope this makes sense! Snow heads is a good forum for questions like this.

To add to what Freckles says, the rules are different for children under 12 (can enter with fully vax'd parents and don't need to test)
