Meribel w/teens - chalet & travel company recommendations?

Hi, I’d like to plan a post covid (fingers crossed) ski trip, probably February half term, to meribel.

I ski - although it’s been at least 5 years now - the kids have only been once when they were little. Single parent so looking to keep things simple - inclusive, breakfast, dinner afternoon tea etc. Close to lifts. Ideally with other teens but I don’t know if that’s going to be appreciated by them? My DC all get along really well with each other so I could organise private lessons for them and we just stick together.

Our only previous family ski trip was organised through Esprit and we stayed at Chalet Alba, near Rond Point I think. It was a very tired looking chalet but perfect for us as it was ski in, easy to ski straight down to the main lifts and they had ski club and ski school leaving straight from the chalet. As a single parent everything was taken care of, I didn’t need to worry about them and they had a great time with the other kids.

Obviously I am now looking at teens though so I need somewhere that is less toddler friendly and more suitable to independent young people. I don’t know if I should be looking for a chalet that has lots of other families with older kids or a single catered chalet where I book them private lessons and we just stick to ourselves? That seems a little sad though. I’ve always loved the camaraderie of skiing (even though I’m a bit of a loner!).

I’d like to stick to Meribel as I love running up to VT or over to Courcheval, I’ve always loved skiing through the valleys and it may well be another few years before I can go again.

Can anyone either recommend a travel agent, a chalet or maybe suggest something I haven’t thought of?

If we are able to go next year my eldest will be 17, then 15 and 13.

Thank you!

What kind of budget do you have?
ClubMed might work as an all inclusive option where ski lessons are also included which would be a good way of meeting other people, but it’s not cheap, espoused in school holidays.

Thank you @Muchtoomuchtodo!

The first time we did this I paid about £5k for the flights and accommodation (with food). Then ski school, snow club and passes were all on top of that. I honestly can’t remember but I’d assume all of that was at least a thousand extra.

I’m hoping to find something for the 4 of us for 7ish? No idea if that is realistic as our first trip was such a long time ago. To an extent I’m open minded as this will be the last time I can consider taking them - I’ll scrimp and save as much as I can to do it. I want them to really enjoy themselves.

That’s probably not far off and they often do 10 or 15% discounts if you can time it right.

We’ve booked a couple of times with Mr and Mrs Snow - find all their details on their FB page. They’re really knowledgeable being skiers themselves and booking through an agent atm gives a bit more peace of mind.

Thank you, I’ll check them out
