Meribel snow - first week of April

We have decided to cancel our February trip to Meribel.
Thinking about re-booking for first week of Easter holidays, which is the first week of April for us.
Has anyone been to Meribel at this time - is there enough snow?
Or, does anyone have any suggestions where we could go instead? Needs to be in France as we will be travelling from London to Paris by train (as need to use up our Eurostar vouchers).

Yes we’ve been and it was all slush making for terrible skiing. The only ok bit was Val Thorens because it’s at much higher altitude but as a result it was heaving and not really enjoyable either. The Espace Killy area so Val D’Isere or Tignes is much better for late season, each resort even has a summer ski area that’s open year round, so you know you’re always be ok even in April!

Obviously it depends on the temperature and the snow but Meribel is notoriously slushy. From Meribel you can ski Val Thorens but if you have options then just stay in Val Thorens.

Anywhere in April is going to be slushy. Which is OK depending on the sort of winter season you've had. Slush in Chamonix late April early March if you've had a good winter skiing on powder slopes is great. Ski a bit, drink and eat a lot in the spring sunshine. If it's the only ski trip of the season maybe not so much fun.

We go to Tignes in April (well, not the past 2 years) and stay in Val Claret. Runs to the resort can be soft in the afternoon and there are a couple which do catch the sun making them particularly prone to it, but Tignes gives you the possibility of getting high and staying high, rather than having to keep coming down to resort level in order to get back up high again. The weather can sometimes be unseasonably cold - we went in 2017 in mid-April and had a very chilly week.

We always stay VT at Easter. It’s fine.
