What forms, tests do we need?

Ok I'm being a big dumb and remain ever hopeful that our trip to France after Xmas with teens will happen?
So with that in mind could you help me figure out what I need as reading multiple sites makes my head explode!

2 vaccinated adults
2 x single vac teens (so "unvaccinated ")

2 x PCR tests for teens taken in the 24 hours prior to departure where presumably we have to go to a site and have them carried out by medical professional to count ?
Will the results be an email which i should then print copies of?

2 adults should download passé sanitaire and upload vaccine pass QR code to easily scan on ski lifts, restaurants etc? We should print copies too to be in safe side?

Test teens every day in resort. Will kids need passé sanitaire in their phones too as they will be in ski school so need them for lifts when not with us?

Before departure book 4 x PCR 2 day arrival tests for passenger locator form. Where do we find locator forms? No other testing to be done before leaving France??

Have I missed anything? Thank you so much for any help!!

Oh thankyou for asking this, as I too am totally combobulated by who needs what! I watch with interest. (Also with teens at various stages of vaccination)

I can only speak for the French side, but download Tous Anti Covid and scan your QR code onto it. It doesn't need a network so should work even in the mountains and is availabile in English. Sometimes one member of the group is asked to scan a QR code with Tous Anti Covid for track and trace purposes in a restaurant. I would also print off your passes to be on the safe side.

For the kids, I would imagine if you drop them off at ski school they will scan the codes on your phone there and then - this is what currently happens for sports clubs - it will be a hassle printing them off every day.

For testing, during the peaks parts of the wave, testing was incredibly fast and effective. You go in, someone shoves the straw up your nosril (sometimes both) and you're off. I'd be really surprised if main resorts don't have a series of little chalets or tents were people can go, get swabbed, pay by card and then you have your results and QR code texted or emailed to you. Even PCR gets back within 24 hours.

You also need a statement of honour that you haven't been in contact with a confirmed positive case in the last 24 hours to present with your PCR tests at the frontier. I don't believe there is a passenger locator form. www.interieur.gouv.fr/Actualites/L-actu-du-Ministere/Certificate-of-international-travel

Sorry that should be 14 days, not 24 hours.

OhCobblers · 29/11/2021 15:42

@650above
I'm really grateful for all the info thank you. I read in various places that the kids PCR tests on entry to France need to be less than 24 hours old but on other sites antigen 48 hours or PCR 72 hours! Not sure what to do for the best?

24h for either for UK travelers - if you scroll through this website it gives all the info

Thank you I think I'd been looking at travelling from a green country!

Can I jump in? This thread has been very helpful. I'm confused by this page of the link that has been shared on the thread- it implies that not fully vaccinated travellers (is my single vaccinated 14 year old) have to isolate for 7 days.

I know this isn't what I thought was the current requirement, but it's there in black and white?

If you’re flying into Geneva ensure you have proof that you’re staying in France or you’ll be expected to quarantine in Switzerland.

Where is that from? If it's from the rules for unvaccinated people, they do not apply to under 18s travelling with fully vaccinated parents.

France from Sat 4th December - Tests required by all travellers from non-EU countries (including UK) regardless of vaccination status

@Havanananana
Thanks!
So now to add 4 antigen 24 hour rather than 2 tests prior to departure.
I reckon that's an additional £300 in the last week that we are now going to have to spend!

Could anyone recommend the best place to buy Day 2 tests? We will have to book on-site tests visits for the day before! Even more expensive.

Where are you flying from? We've booked to collect our Day 2 tests at Heathrow. You have to collect prior to departure and our flight is earlier than the first appointment time, so we have booked into the same hotel as the collection for the night before. It's cost us £85 for the hotel but better that than £250 on postal Day 2 tests, and as a bonus we won't need to leave home at 4am. Click and collect tests at LHR were 85p each.
You drop them off at the collection point upon arrival back into the UK.

Do you think testing will be available on Christmas Day?

oopsinamechangedagain2021 · 02/12/2021 09:22

Also, thanks 650above, for the other info, it's really helpful.
