Chalet holidays and Brexit

Looking at booking for Christmas 2021 (not actually booking but budgeting!). We are fairly new to skiing and have typically done the catered chalet with childcare thing in France. I know it can be done much cheaper by booking separately but I love the convenience whilst we have childcare. We've been twice - once with Esprit and once with Family Ski Company.

What's happening with these types of holidays with Brexit? Are they going to need to only employ EU nationals (which will presumably push costs up if you're looking for fluent English speakers) or is there a reprieve (or is everyone hoping for a reprieve still)? Given Covid impacting this season, is the reality that a lot of these companies just won't survive?

Interested to see how this pans out. Prices will rocket I expect. It's a shame as I haven't managed to take my 9yo and 7yo skiing yet (except for on an indoor real snow slope) for various reasons. I'm a ski racer so it needs to happen!

A reprieve? What do you mean by a reprieve? No Brexit? That's not going to happen. Too much money to be made.

And yes, the holiday seasons will suffer. There are plenty of English speakers who are also European so holiday employers will employ them over a British instructors. Less hassle.

And repeat for all sectors.

I have read quite a bit about this - while there will be seasonal workers passes and ways around, the reality is there will be a lot less of the traditional shared chalet holiday. Covid has just accelerated what was becoming far less profitable and dwindling in popularity anyway thanks to Brexit and people booking their own flexi packages. I suspect there will still be a place for niche family companies and small chalet offerings at the mid to high level of the market.

By reprieve I meant something similar to the Australian working holiday visa system. I appreciate that's wishful thinking. I don't live in the UK and was hoping I'd missed something.

Thing is it really isn’t just the work issue, although that certainly doesn’t help. Chalets have been falling in popularity for years owing to the rise of airbnb and self catering. Now covid has caused many operators to pull the plug on chalet allocations in their entirety, I can’t see many coming back given the uphill struggle it involves.
