Top tips to improve my stance please?

Even after many lessons on anything steeper than a blue, I squat and ski with my legs wide apart as this seems to be the only way I can control my speed, even on blues I ski with legs quite bent and far apart - my friends can spot me a mile off.
I know that I need to stand straighter and one some easy runs I can but as soon as there's any challenge I revert.
Does anyone have any simple tips to help me please? My last lesson told me hips over ankles but with no mirror that's hard to assess as is how far apart my feet are!
I did try tucking my tailbone in which seemed to help (cant squat with your pelvis tucked!) so its that kind of thing I think.
Also how to use my arms better

TIA, as per the other thread I just read, i seem to be getting worse rather than better despite going twice each Spring

Make sure that your shoulders are always pointing downhill and get your weight centred over the middle of your skis. If you're squatting then the weight will be over the back half of your skis and you will NOT be more in control that way. Control means controlling the edges and where the tips go so stand up straight and face downhill at all times.

When I say 'stand up straight', in ski boots that means that you'll actually be leaning slightly forwards. Google images of skiers to see the stance that good skiers have - that's what you want.

Plant your pole at each turn - gets you in a good rhythm and stops you doing strange things with your arms. Look forward, down the mountain (the fall line) at where you’re going, not sideways across the piste and never down at your skis - sounds obvious but it helped me a lot! Private lessons are great at helping with small adjustments - I would definitely recommend booking a few next time you go.

Point he way you want to go with your shoulders / head your skis kind of have to follow!

Stand in a room with a mirror. Bend to a ski squat and stand up with your weight shifted to one foot. Repeat and shift your weight standing on the other foot. Try and feel the weight shift through the foot as you rise as if pressing an accelerator. Repeat this so you know the feeling.

Take it onto an easy slope. This is an easy way to turn in an exaggerated manner. Upgrade to the bigger slope.

Relax shoulders and keep hands/hips forward. Hips flex vertically rather than forward/back.
