Snacks for kids in ski school

Do you put snacks into your kids' pockets for ski school? And is yes..... what!?

Kids will be 3 & 7.

My 7yo has skied once before but the ski famille nannies joined the classes so I don't remember having to pack snacks into pockets..... (I guess the nannies whisked kids off to toilets and hot chocolates when needed).

3yo is a complete beginner and clearly not going to be able to get wrappers off things and nor remember to put rubbish back in pocket .....so whatever we put in her pocket will need to be unpackaged!

Any tips?

Cereal bars

Seaandsand83 · 26/12/2019 14:51

How long are the lessons for?

lifeisgoodagain · 26/12/2019 14:52

When mine were in ski school everything was included in the exorbitant price up to age 12

Fruit yoyo? For older kids we do funsize twix etc. Or a Kind bar.

Raid their selection boxes for kids size chocolate bars! We put one in their pocket for each lesson. It was expected (and necessary)

Small mars bar but skischool will usually provide a snack mid lesson especially for little ones.

massistar · 28/12/2019 15:47

We always used to put mini mars bars in ours.

OhCobblers · 28/12/2019 21:46

Individual wrapped choc brioche and yo-yo bear or haribo. They needed the sugar!! Their ski school didn't provide any snacks.

Rodent01 · 05/01/2020 22:22

Definitely oMini mars bars / twix etc. Anything that will give them a treat if they aren’t having the time of their lives, or a sugar hit if they are! I’m sure the instructors will give a hand if they can’t manage to open!

justmyview · 07/01/2020 09:40

penguin biscuit, less likely to get squashed than a twix

livingthegoodlife · 31/01/2020 14:31

How long are the lessons?? Mine hi to ski school 4 hours and no snack. When are they supposed to eat it? The whole group doesn't stop for snack time! My kids skied last year age 4, 5 & 6.

If you think they'll be hungry then just bring something when you collect them.

stripeypillowcase · 31/01/2020 14:33

no need for a snack
when we went ski school was 3 hours with one break in between when a hot chocolate and biscuits were offered.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 31/01/2020 14:35

Ours always had a small kinder bar and some ‘energy sweets’ - the chewy, fruity ones from Lidl!

Sometimes they stopped during their lessons for a quick snack and other times they ate it on their way to lunch! Either way it was enjoyed.

Yes definitely! Big chunky flapjack, opened.

winterisstillcoming · 02/02/2020 18:55

I agree with flap jacks. Mine like graze bars. Just rip the packet a little so it's easier to open.
