How do you book your ski holidays?

Hey,

How do you all find your ski holidays normally? A high street travel agent, an online site (Crystal, Neilson etc) or somewhere else..?

For context I'm working on a website of my own to try and make this a bit easier (Ski Panda), it will search multiple online sites for you at once. Any feedback on that also would also be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance Smile

I do my own bookings. From a brief look at your site there is no info on the resorts at all so you'd need to research what you are looking for first which pretty much defeats the object.

You're also nit supposed to advertise / mr here...

I use an operator for family holidays and a ski specialist for short breaks.
I don’t know what your engine is searching but I plugged in a few options for weekend breaks next year and it came up with nothing.

I review all The resorts on line- Various sites to do this including telegraph travel which is good .

Then I book flights and accommodation directly as well as hire and passes.

Gives me flexibility and usually works out cheaper.

And I am not one of those people who is super organised and researches everything to the nth degree so likes to be in control

I’ve just found in the past when I’ve approached companies to book ski trips that they push their own agendas be thy at ski areas or certain accommodation.

We book our own and always have done - Eurotunnel/ferry and own self-catering apartment - either through a local agency/resort website/Homeaway or something cheap and cheerful like Pierre & Vacances. One of the things I find limiting about websites like the one you've linked to is that there is no option for self-drive - it looks as though you have to book a flight as well. Can you offer an accommodation only option? Or ferry/Eurotunnel? We then book lift passes direct with resort via website and ski hire via hire shop local to our accommodation. Works out a lot cheaper than using a company like Crystal/Neilson.

I take the lazy option and book through esprit or mark warner usually. It is expensive though. But it makes it all easier with multiple children all at different levels who need lessons, feeding, and company. We like to meet other families too - the social side is really important to us.

My DP who doesn't have children, books everything separately.

Like we book every other holiday. Separately so that we can customise it to exactly what we want.

We always book independently. It's definitely cheaper that way. I check tour operators every year and they always scoff at my budget and offer me Bulgaria and I always manage to find something in France, Austria or Italy.

Because we are a group of 8, want catered, close to slopes usually end up checking prices based on say 4 and then dealing with a specialist having checked rates.
I would like to filter on more things - and be able to book any number online not always by email or call...
