Skiing for asthmatic beginner and teenagers

Hi
We've recently started lessons at an indoor snow dome and are looking to book a week holiday next season.
We're restricted to school holidays so when would be advisable to go?
Also I'm asthmatic and our instructor mentioned some countries might not be suitable as they're so high. My asthma is well managed but I wouldn't want to go to a country that makes it hard for me.
We'd ideally like catering but happy to go sc for the right resort

Feb then to go to lower resorts. The world is you oyster really. What's your budget?

Up to 5k all in ideally. I'm happy to book everything separately if necessary. Or we can drive as we're SE

How many DC's. To be honest teenagers of 'I'm off out' age and you might as well give them a fun resort under threat of death that missing any skiing means they never come again or just old enough to cost a bomb, but still stay with you!? Grin

Be aware that medical facilities in resort can be limited.

DH is asthmatic, under control but has never had any issues. He actually feels better skiing as the air is so fresh and clean! We have skied at high altitude in France without issue.

If you are looking for a good resort for teens then somewhere with a bit of buzz and snow parks is good. Look at the 3 valleys - Val Thorens, les Menuires, Courcheval, Meribel etc. There is a huge area you can cover.

I like Andorra, good food, quite cheap and some entertainment for kids. I would stay somewhere that isn’t an hours drive from the medical centre (past experience).

I'd go for less busy myself. Half term can be horrible for learners. Dolomites? Stay in a larger town.

They'll be 13 and 14 so not quite old enough to completely do there own thing but they'll definitely go off at times!
I like the idea of quieter slopes so we're not intimidated 😬 but I'd definitely want a restaurant/bar or two for the odd evening that we're not completely shattered!

I second the 3 Valleys recommendation. Meribel would fit the bill, loads going on, brilliant skiing, easy to find the catered chalet thing if that’s your preferred option and the town is at low-ish altitude for a big resort- 1450m. I’d avoid Val T though as it’s very high.
