Christmas Skiing

We would like to ski this Christmas.

A friend told me there might really not be enough snow in Europe by then.

Is there anywhere in Europe where the snow is more likely to be suitable or is it too early?

We are a mix of beginner and accomplished skiers.

High is what you need, but that also means cold. I must admit that puts me off a bit. I have skied in Finland and Whistler at Xmas and both were -20+ fine if you're prepared. They have other attractions though, not just skiing.

We've skied at Christmas and had loads of snow and skied at Christmas where the snow cannons make white ribbons down fields of green! It's a bit unpredictable but fabulous if it does snow!

We skied in austria at christmas last year and there was plenty of snow! We're going back this Christmas so fingers crossed for more of the same! Where we go isn't glacier but it's generally quite reliable asks has plenty of snow canons so the pistes will definitely be ok even if the fields next door are still brown (Although not as atmospheric though so fingers crossed for proper snow!)

Go high. Look at Cervinia (You can ski over to Zermatt). Skied Christmas 2015 and 2017 there (2017 there was so much snow that if we'd have stayed another day we'd have been stuck!).

France definitely, every year, season starts late November/early December.

Tignes is high up and has a lot of snow, huge skiing area for all levels, very popular at Christmas so book, always absolutely a lot of snow that time of year.
