Ski goggles to go over glasses

Hi all

My ski goggles are now 17 years old and are falling apart (the material at the top now has a load of holes in) so I am looking for new ski goggles. The thing is, I wear glasses (and cannot wear contact lenses) so need some goggles that go over my glasses. I have found these goggles recommendations but wondered if anyone else had bought any of the goggles on the list.

I have a massive head and have just bought this helmet in XL. I also have a reasonably broad face.

I've ordered the Gonex OTG goggles (they were £17 from Amazon) and if they don't work, I can send them back. A friend has a set of goggles that actually have a fan in to stop glasses steaming up - part of me thinks that this would be brilliant and part thinks that it is just another thing to break.

I think I like the look of the Oakley Flight Deck goggles the best but wonder whether they might be bit too young for me (I am now middle aged and my ski gear is a bit of random mish-mash - but it works for me). Also, they are quite expensive and my husband said that the one pair of Oakleys he had scratched almost immediately.

Sorry this has ended up being rather a brain dump. If any of you have any recommendations, I would be really grateful.

My husband bought insert lens that are set in a plastic spring that clips inside his goggles. About £20 off the net. Just needed his prescription still doesn't read the friggin signs though

That's interesting - can you get them for when your eyes have different prescriptions?

Yes they are made to your exact prescription, not just off the shelf.

I have the flight deck XM (smaller size) and with the Prizm Iridium lens.
I love them - they do scratch easily as frameless so have to take care at lunch/boot room etc but the visibility is brilliant and well worth it.
I bet you will really notice the difference after an older pair.
I don't think they are young - just hi tech!
I got a great deal on Igero.

Wow, I never knew that specific goggles were actually designed to go over glasses! Every day is a school day!
I needed new goggles this year as last time I skied (a long time ago) no one wore helmets, and my old goggles wouldn't fit with my helmet. I just went to an outdoor shop and tried on a load of goggles and saw which pair fitted best with both my helmet and glasses. Glasses are frameless though so quite small so fitted in most goggles. Really sorry though, I can't even remember what make they are and they are in the loft so can't look!

I would recommend a helmet with a visor rather than goggles over glasses.

My friends gave up with the goggles over glasses as they said it steamed up too much, and the helmets with a visor are much better.

Hi all

The Gonex goggles came and seem pretty nice. They fit my glasses and my helmet so I'm going to give them a go. At £17 a pair, I won't mind if they get scratched.
