Top tip Tigress

When you've bought your new boots, break 'em in on a dry slope before you take them on holiday Grin

The countdown is on now Grin

Think I've settled on which resorts I'm going to and it will be Saalbach, StAnton and Zermatt. Zermatt is only for three days because my finances will only go so far in Switzerland!

I know three resorts sounds ridiculously over the top but I live in Australia so if I'm going to make the long trek to Europe I might as well make the most of it.

Thanks pesto I hadn't considered that. Can't wait.

That's ok, I got new boots last year and it was really helpful 'skiing them in' on the dry slope. I found I had to adjust the clips with the tool that comes with them, for one boot and I wouldn't have been able to do that once I was on holiday!

We're going at Easter, which also happens to coincide with my 40th Grin.
Would love a new jacket, but as the dc will all need new gear that takes priority. Hoping that by March I'll be able to get some bargains so maybe able to stretch the budget...

Can I join in please? Off to Neiderau in exactly two months - can't wait! It'll be DS's first time, he'll be 4.9, and I haven't been on snow since before I was pregnant so am very excited! Hope he loves it as much as DH and I do. Bit worried about my fitness levels though, need to get back on the plastic soon to find my ski legs.
All this talk of new stuff makes me want to go shopping, think a new jacket may be on the cards, and DS needs goggles.....

Ooooh I love a good ski anticipation thread. We're not going until 8th April, which seems horribly far away. And there is already snow! Feeling really rather put out at not going until so late in the season. We're going to Ischgl, same place as last year.

Anyone started exercising yet? I have a gym at work so really have no excuse. I'm aiming to get to Legs, bums and tums on Friday. The teacher is great and it really works at toning and strengthening the thigh and calf muscles.

Well I am trying to do lots of walking to get fit and I was going to go to the dry ski slope this morning, but I've had to take the car in to the garage today for the brakes to be looked at - grrr!!

I have to say I don't currently feel very fit Sad

I'm joining in! Off to the Dolomites at half term. Went as a family for the first time last year - we all loved it, even the 46 year old ski virgin husband! Roll on Feb.....

I've just got back from a 5.5 mile run in the 'fit for skiing' quest. smugness due to exercise endorphins, it will wear off I definitely ski better when I'm fit.

32 days to go!!

Lovetoski I hope your last day was ok. Anything on the cards?

Exercising? There's something else I need to fit in amongst all the school stuff, my own studying, Christmas shopping, etc. This time of year makes me want to just sit on the sofa with a good book.

Wish I was in the mountains ....

We off in March can't wait! We went first week in January this year so kids only missed 3d school but only just had snow in time with rain on last day, so this year risking a fine for absence in March Blush
