Adults - do you wear a helmet?

It's been over a decade since I've skied. I've been a handful if times so not a novice but choosing to take intermediate lessons as a refresher. Hat only in the past - I've never worn a helmet. Do you choose to wear one as an adult?

Direct.

I've worn one since I started skiing again in 2008.

I've never felt odd wearing one as an adult. The only person I know who still wears a bobble hat is an exGB squad skier, but even she wore one off piste and was is reconsidering on piste as her crusty old, big in the ski world, father bought one for his 2016 trip.
We are away in a few weeks. I will be interested to see if she has one with her!

Yes. Almost everyone does now.

I'd had 6 years off when I got back into skiing 3 seasons ago. Friends told me to get a helmet & now I wouldn't be without it.

In Flaine pre-Xmas I saw only a few people without helmets...I'd say they were mainly 50+ yrs. It's madness not to wear one.

Just coming back from a week in Austria , I'd say it was about 95% with helmet.

Given the massive consensus in favour: any helmet make recommendations (or particular helmets!) for a new helmet buyer?

I have asked on another thread too - hope that isn't bad form...

I went skiing for the first time about 20 years on a school trip and didn't wear a helmet. The second time I went skiing was two years ago and I was accompanying a school trip and was silently annoyed when I heard I would have to wear a helmet assuming it was h&s overkill. I assumed it would only be students and teachers on the slopes in the stupid things, but no, nearly everyone did. Except true instructors who should be the best role models. Everyone should wear one.

I hadn't been on a skiing holiday since 2009, and don't remember many adults wearing one then. I went this year and virtually everyone had one, many with GoPros on the top as well. I liked my Giro helmet; as well as greater peace of mind, it kept my head and ears nice and warm.

I've got a Bolle b-star that I'm very happy with - warm earflaps, comfortable and adjustable, nicely constructed and wasn't too expensive I think I paid £70 in a shop but I'm sure you should get cheaper online.
