So DS2 has come back from the school skiing trip having loved it. Neither husband or I ski and think it unlikely we will start. Ds1 has been on ski trip previously so is a rookie but would give it a go. If we were thinking about next year or in the future, what is there to do for non skiiers? It's possibly something they could go and do together in the future but perhaps the first time on a non organised school type trip, one of us should go too.

Pick a resort with facilities and activities such as snowshoeing and cross country skiing(langlauf). There will often be a pool complex and spa , which with winter walking and trips up the mountain to restaurants for long lunches and reading over coffee could easily fill your day. If you don't need extensive downhill skiing it needn't cost the earth and you could focus on an inclusive skischool. Suggest Austria, Switzerland or Italy might be better than France for all roundedness and scenery.

Thank you for all your suggestions. Any specific resorts recommended would be gratefully received.

We ski but we also went in a snowshoeing holiday one year in the French Pyrenees which was great.
There are areas where you could find both. Particularly if you don't take a package holiday.

I've just done exactly the same as Three. I wanted to skate but the rink was either shut because it was before 2.30pm, it wasn't cold enough or the rink was open but deserted and I didn't fancy being the only one there and had no atmosphere.

I still liked the rest of the resort though and I have taken some lovely photos. I also enjoyed watching the skiers having fun - great atmosphere Smile

I'm looking for specific resort recommendations too please.
Need lots of nursery and easy run for my dyspraxia kids and lots to do, tobogganing, swimming, sky sports, walking - for my non skiing DH
