Any ski companies that offer VERY flexible childcare for kids aged 6 -13???

Does anyone know of any ski companies (big or small) that can offer childcare for a range of ages and abilities? We have 4 DC - (who will be 13, 10, 8 and 6 at the time of our next ski holiday). We have been with Esprit 3 times (and about to go with them again this Easter) but our eldest will be too old for us to go with them next year. We simply need someone to collect kids from lessons and give them lunch, then we can meet them around 2pm. Means we get a decent ski in before doing family stuff in the afternoon. I'm just loathe to pay for a full days childcare! We just need a nanny for a few hours really. Any thoughts folks?? Thanks.

Don't some of the ski schools offer lessons in the mornings and then a supervised lunch - I am sure I have seen this.

Yes, I've seen lots of ski schools that offer "extended" lunch and sometimes even fun time in the afternoons. Evo2 and New Generation were two I saw that did it recently in France. You just have to book with them direct i.e. turn down the tour operator's ski school option if they allow you to - I know Crystal does. No idea on Esprit.

You can also hire nannies in resort in a similar fashion i.e. direct for a few hours too.

My kids are similar sort of ages and have outgrown the Esprit type childcare. We booked a ski instructor for lessons that were 9.30 -2.00 when we went and they had them for lunch as part of the lessons and we collected them at a pre-arranged point on the mountain at 2pm each day. It worked week and we felt we got to ski and they felt they had some independence.

slalomsuki - that sounds good, can you remember which resort/ski school it was? Thanks.

Family friendly ski in La Tania might suit. The nanny comes to your chalet, takes kids to ski school if no tinies , collects from ski school, does lunch and you can collect from nanny at time ( and location) mutually agreed. We went with them last year , our chalet of kids were age 6- 12. Most skied with parents for part of the afternoon most days. Depending on childrens tiredness and weather.

Cusacl, I should have expanded - we like Club Med as it means we get a full day of skiing and so do the children (if they want to). We drop of the children somewhere between 8-9 (depending on age and ski level) then pick them up for lunch (if they want to lunch with us or they can stay in the club) and then drop them off again until pick up at the end of the afternoon. If they don't want to ski they can stay in the club (although no children over about 6/7 seem to stay, everyone goes skiing). Obviously we can take them out to ski with us for a morning/afternoon when we and they want. They also have clubs for the various ages in the evening.
That said, the dominant language in the French resorts is French (not sure what it is like at the resorts outside France).
