Skiing for less than a week

Anyone know if there's any likelihood at all of being able to book somewhere (hotel probably) for, say Tues-Sun of Feb half term? I'm guessing not, but that's the only week we can go, and dh has to be at work on the Monday.

Failing that, I suppose we'll just have to book somewhere for the whole week and take the hit on the first couple of nights. At least the flights will be marginally cheaper on the Mon/Tues than at the weekend.

Depends if you can get flights, Sunday could be tricky. Then ring/email a few hotels . The issue may be ski schools if you require it as most start Sun/Mon and they will be busy with week long bookings.

Plenty of flights available going out (Tuesday), and seemed to some coming back on the Sunday.
Don't need ski school. It's accommodation that's the tricky bit so far.

Some companies do Sun/Sun too so perhaps you could go and he could just fly out on the Tuesday?

We do a long (4-5 nights) weekend most years, including several at half term. Where are you hoping to travel to? We've always been to Italy, which doesn't have half term, so finding apartments/b&bs through local websites hasn't been tricky.

DH and I had a break in Germany last year in Garmisch Partenkirchen - it was fab and just enough to do over a few days (we went Wed-Sundays). We stayed in a boarding house not fat from the railway station. The USA have a military base there so no problem with language and accommodation. We flew to Munich and hired a car but there are trains from Munich too.

Clam I do this often! And will be doing at Feb half term as well - will not book up until a few days before though, and am unfussy about resorts as don't need childcare/lessons etc.
I drive out tho', so not issue with flights. Could you drive?
I hate arriving at a ski resort on a Saturday, hence why I always do offer combinations...
I have recently used booking.com to get a hotel - very happy with it, and again, odd days available, but I'm sure you could also look at other hotel booking sites.

Really don't want to drive down - especially for a shorter break. Have done it before and hate it.

The whole thing gets more complex by the minute as there's potentially a larger group all going and there are conflicting needs/wants. Usually, dh and I just say "we're going here and doing this. Anyone who fancies joining us is welcome," but that's not going to work this time. Am close to jacking in the whole idea at the moment.

I did take a look at booking.com and expedia but will do so again.

Thanks all.

Hey ho.

clam - hope you find a good outcome...
I often (at 5am on the day I set out/when I arrive shattered, tired, fed up) wonder why on earth I even bothered to go.
But I treasure the memory of every ski trip I have done - nowt better than skiing Grin
hope it works out...
