The post offce one was good but before I pressed "yes" (or equiv) realised it didnt do winter sports!

I've just bought Admiral (Standard) single trip for DS and I via money supermarket.com. Some names on there I didn't recognise so paid a couple of ponds more for a brand I'd heard of.....they probably all use the same parent company!

Thanks...I thought the same. They all look good but very unknown!

I've used Post Office before (with winter sports cover) and it was great. We had to make a claim and we sorted it out no problem. M&S are excellent and were even better than post office for ease of making a claim and speed of the money arriving. i wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Its an awful lot though (£90 for the post office one)

I've got to be honest i can't remember how much i paid. We usually get an annual policy with winter sports coverage as we find this is better value for us. What i would say is i was tempted by a cheap deal one year (before DC) and we got snowed in for the week, hubby fell in the street and needed hospital treatment. We claimed for a hefty medical bill, skipass, lessons and hire which we couldn't enjoy because of weather. Even with all the appropriate paperwork from hopsital, resort and tour operator it was an absolute nightmare and we got very little money back so now. So what looked like a cheap deal turned into a very expensive deal, i'm now willing to pay abit more for good coverage with a reputable company (like lapsedorienteerer)
I would shop around and see which policy suits you best.

Thanks :) Went for the m&s in the end. I liked admiral but the medical questions were a bit of a mess...asking if any of us has been to the GP in the last 2 years...well of course we have, for general old and flu stuff!

For what it's worth i think you've made a good choice. Hopefully you won't need to claim for anything but if you do their claim policy is super easy. Unfortunately, i fractured my arm last year and had to visit a private clinic in lech for xrays and drugs, the bill was pretty horrific. When i got home i called M&S had a word with an advisor, told them the story, at the end they asked how much i had to pay out, told me what the exchange rate was and asked if i was happy with that. Next day the cheque arrived Smile. It was such a relief not to have to fill in endless forms and argue about the payments. I'll definately be using them again!
