Reasonably priced all inclusive skiing for beginners

We are hoping to go skiing next year perhaps early March, and we are all beginners. DC are 7 and 5. Where's the best place to go? I have no idea where to start looking! We would like all inclusive and to be close to the slopes. Hoping that by going during term time it will be much cheaper.

Les Sybelles is good for beginners , 310 km of slopes, with lots of beginner to intermediate slopes heading into the resorts. The accommodation is mostly self catering, although there are some catered possibilities either in hotels or tourism residences. I live in the area so I could give you lots of pointers if you were interested. When is half term in the UK? The dates to avoid at all costs are between 16/02 and 16/03.

Thanks. Half term starts 15th Feb for 1 week but we plan to go later than that, perhaps first week of March.

March is a good time of year, a bit warmer and a bit quieter.

Pick a resort that's quite high up altitude wise to make sure you get good snow.

Make sure your chalet is fairly close to a cable car that goes to the beginner's area (if beginners' area is at the top of the mountain, some are) or close to the beginner's area if that's at the bottom. Walking for ages in snowboots and carrying skis in skiddy ice is not good. I like to be within 300m of the main lifts! You also need to make sure there is an easy run or a cable car going back down to your resort.

Resorts that I've been to which I think would be good for beginners are;

La Rosiere
La Plagne
Morzine
Les Gets
Courcheval

I would avoid Chamonix and Val d'isere as neither are good for beginners really. Quite steep and underrated runs. Tignes probably wouldn't be brilliant either but not as bad as those 2.

We had a great time in Bansko of Bulgaria with Jay at Chalet Milo, we booked flights seperately. Jay looked after the rest for us. Really good value for money, small classes for kids. Great ski runs (v.lucky with fresh snow) Great accomm and food.

Ski Famille offer great holidays to Les Gets which is great for families. Agree that you should stay away from Val d'Isere etc as you would pay more than you need. Mark Warner also do all inclusive packages as do Neilson.

Try SkiSemmering, great for beginners and families, accommodation next to slopes etc

Have you looked at ClubMed ? They're all inclusive, includes ski lessons with english instructors, and childcare for 4-11 year olds if they don't take to the skiing!
