I normally book ski school for the companionship of skiing with people of similar ability and for the benefit of the instructor working out the routes. Of course I always learn a little more to improve my technique anyway. This year to keep costs down (DS's 2nd year so his cost has gone up with full child lift pass) and so I can have a little more flexibility to ski with DS around his lessons, I have decided to go for the free ski escort service. I was however wondering about booking an off piste guide or lesson. Has anyone tried this? Is it expensive? Do you need to be experienced with off piste? I've done a little bit. Any tips and advice?
