Can you take a train? Alternatively try the resort tourist info office/website for taxi details, or if you are going to a hotel ask them. Also check airport website for details of coach/taxi transfer such as Terravision

I go by train from Geneva airport, north side of lake to Vallorcine (Chamonix, transfer for an adult is around 100 euro return, under 15s are free, so in effect the next trip is 100 euro return for both of us, our flights cost us 90 euro for 2.

But it would depend where you are planning to ski, from where to where, how you do the transfers. If it's just for a weekend, Geneva is a good place to fly, there is plenty of skiing within 90 minutes of the airport, choice of hire car is economical for a group of 4, or private minibus transfers which are plentiful, or the train if going to certain resorts, or public buses. Grenoble is another place you can fly cheaply to from the UK. Or perhaps resorts in Austria, Italy (Torino). Nearly every ski resort website has details of how to trasnfer from the nearest airport.

Innsbruck is an ideal airport to fly into, there are even ski slopes within the city and loads of surrounding villages. There is a bus every 15 mins or so that goes to the city centre (10 mins) and the station, from the station you can access loads of ski resorts including St Anton in 65-80 mins. Loads of other resorts, almost too many to mention.

Ta for your info, but I think I stick to hiring

Usually go into Turin where a hire car cost £55 from Thursday to Sunday.

Lugging luggage and skis from the airport to bus to train does not appeal

Okaren - which resort do you go to from Turin (curious for future short break idea)?

sauze d'oulx

lt has 41 runs, the longest is 6KMS and you can ski into France but never done this yet.

It is around 80 miles from Turin, tolls coast around ?10 petrol around ?10 also depends on your car obviously.

It says the resort is open from Dec to April but told the snow is not very good in late season. Been in early Jan and it was good

It is more expensive then other resorts around there, well been to one other, forget the name.

If you want anymore info PM me
