Am I too late for a good Feb 1/2 term ski hol?

can anyone recommend anywhere to look/book - may end up being just a whim but I want a holiday! Would happily drive down to the French Alps and do self catering but wondering if I have left it all too late????

How many people are you looking for. There's still availability all over the place if you travel independently just try going through the accommodation agencies websites in the resort you're looking for. Here's the link to the Val d'isere one.

Agree with expecting, you can easily do it if you do it independently. Also if you want to fly consider a short break such as Sun-Thu, also consider alternative airport. Here is an example of Sun-Thu flights to Munich.

many thanks i will check out those links - a short break might be doable and a bit more affordable too - thanks so much

Try p and v or igluski for late availability. normally it is the weekend flights which are tricky to coordinate so if you went midweek or drive it could be much more straightforward to book. Be aware that spaces in skischool (if you need them) could be limited especially for exclusively English speaking groups and they often have fixed start days at peak times.

Had an email yesterday from Esprit who we have previously been with saying they are putting on extra flights for half term.

Try Erna Low or www.ifyouski

Have a look at Vaujany (Southern French Alps) very easy to do independently (cheap flights to Grenoble,1hr 15mins transfer)or an easy (90% motorway) 8-9hr drive from Calais, or SKI PEAK do great catered packages. If you like the village and want to self cater have a look at my new project (finished last Friday) on face book under "Le Chalet Aux Quat' Saisons" - or message me - 10% discount for fellow MNs. Mx

This lady here, Nelly:

in Champéry, Switzerland, still has accommodation left at half term, about 3 minutes walk from the main lift. I know because I've just spoken to her and she gave me a choice!

It's a gorgeous village, with amazing skiing as once you've gone up the main lift you have access to Avoriaz, Morzine and several other big resorts.

I've never driven it but my friend does it regularly and says it takes her about 8 hours from Calais.
