Venture Ski - Sante Foy

Hi, I am just about to book a skiing holiday with Venture ski with our two children - 7 and 4. The 7 year old has done a couple of days skiing, the 4 year old has not skiied before. We thought venture looks great, and as we plan to take them out of school in mid march the price seems good too. We have been told Sante Foy is a good first resort for children, we don't mind where we go as long as we can ski after so many years not skiing whilst the children were young. Before I pay a deposit I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts / experience of venture and sante foy. Thanks!

Sainte Foy is great - not enormous, but excellent for kids/beginners, several beginners slopes (one at the top of a chairlift, my DD was doing this at 4 after one lesson)

We don't go with an operator so can't comment on Venture tbh.

Nearly booked with them last year but was put off by the extortionate transfer charge from Geneva - £250 for two of us. Can't remember if that was a standard charge with no limit on numbers or whether it was £125 each. Either way it was a deal breaker for us.

What about this place instead in Ste Foy? It's less than 900 euro for the week and by French standards, the apartments are quite luxurious. I have no idea if Venture Ski are catered chalets but you can opt for a self-catered apartment in a residence like this in France and eat in the restaurant of the residence and it's still usually cheaper than chalet holidays that many Brits take. This place has a pool and spa.

Have you thought about taking the train to Ste Foy? It is very near to Bourg St Maurice where you can get to by Eurostar or Thalys or TGV, a direct train from London or with a change at Lille.

We went with venture last year. Have posted on here about it, it probably comes up if you search. In a nutshell, good accommodation and food, very good nannies, odd patchiness in resort service from venture team and only ESF for children's lessons - large classes, bored teachers who don't seem to bother much with the English children ( seems to be the same story with ESF wherever you go)
