She seems to be very popular.

Another vote for Liz

littlelamb · 26/07/2009 13:24

Oh please please please
She just loves mothers you know
We could ask her which cushions are fluffiest? Which bath oils the most luxurious? How old she really is?

thisisyesterday · 26/07/2009 13:26

yes, please let's have her

christianmisfit · 26/07/2009 13:27

Isn't she that one in the Daily Mail who for years wrote personal and disrespectful stuff about her dh - then (oh what a ) the marriage ended? Is that her?

Is she pg now?

christianmisfit · 26/07/2009 13:27

She always seemed to me to be a deeply unhappy and vulnerable woman.

littlelamb · 26/07/2009 13:29

at is she pg now
She would actually have to get naked for that to happen you know

UnquietDad · 26/07/2009 13:35

She did, but said DH was a complete and total arsehole who was an insult to the male gender. Nirpal Dhaliwal, he was called - I can't vouch for the spelling, but google some of his idiotic rants and you'll get the idea.

thisisyesterday · 26/07/2009 13:39

they were both twats let's face it. she spent the marriage trying to buy his love and spending god knows how much money
he spent it taking advantage and shagging other women

both as bad as each other if you ask me.
i feel sorry for her because she did seem like she really wanted a family, but all her issues and insecurities led her to waste her time on him and end up with nothing. so now she is all bitter towards mums

very sad

onepieceoflollipop · 26/07/2009 13:50

I only read her outpourings occasionally and felt that she is quite damaged personality wise. Yes he may well not have been much of a dh(understatement) However (imo) perhaps she would have been better off dealing with that via the divorce courts rather than self pitying rants in a newspaper/magazine.

I guess her column made her a lot of money, but it sure didn't make her happy.

vonsudenfed · 26/07/2009 14:03

Nooooo, just don't encourage her. She's only doing it to get attention.

I see that next week's observer is advertising a big interview with her in their woman magazine. They don't seem to have thought this through; telling me this in advance will pretty much guarantee that i get another paper.

SueW · 26/07/2009 15:39

She's in the mail online this weekend saying something about a horse saving her life.

She has a book coming out apparently.

belgo · 27/07/2009 07:33

TBH I don't think us mothers are that popular with Liz Jones either

HelenMumsnet · 28/07/2009 15:41

Er, really? You wouldn't do a Daisy on her, would you?

PLEASE GOD NO

I am struggling to think of a more obnoxious woman. And I don't like her hair.

ScarletBear · 30/07/2009 10:50

What's 'doing a Daisy'?
Am I being naive?

UnquietDad · 30/07/2009 10:56

Daisy reference lost on me too. Daisy Goodwin??

I thought it was the prospect of that "green" Shazza Goldsmith woman on here which had the most hostile reception. People were alternately snorting with rage and salivating at the prospect of laying into her. (Bet you'd all have been a bit more accommodating if it had been Zac...)

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 30/07/2009 11:08

at MNHQ... You mean you don't agree that it was more of a 'Daisy' on us? Not answering any of the pertinent questions for example?

I'm a bit that MNHQ think this, given actually a lot of the webchatters themselves have given quite limited service lately and been ill-prepared for what to expect from their PR people.

I don't really buy the idea that we're supposed to be grateful that they turn up and therefore we can't ask difficult questions. We are the public, it is the job of the public to ask 'public figures' difficult questions.

I still agree with you and some posters that webchats need a format to stop the onslaught of the same question, or random offensive barracking. But a bit of vigorous challenge, surely that's fine? Like PMQ?

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 30/07/2009 11:09

But, no, please god NOT Liz Jones. It would only add to the carcrash of her public life. And we would be worse rubberneckers than she forces us to be already.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 30/07/2009 11:12

Yes please, i'd take the day off work for that!

UnquietDad · 30/07/2009 11:14

You lot would send her over the edge!

jambutty · 30/07/2009 11:15

I didn't know who she was until I read the links on this thread, and now I think it would just be like bear-baiting.
