If you (still) feel the need to discuss Moldies, please do it here so folks can hide this if they want to.

Well hopefully the title says it all. There's been a suggestion, and we agree, that as we did with Baby P and the Mc Canns we just have one thread where anyone who feels they still have anything to add on this subject can post and those who'd rather move on can hide it away.

It feels strange to put this thread in site stuff as we are definitely not wanting to encourage further discussion of Moldies (we have presents to wrap too you know ) but we weren't sure where else to put it.

We will delete any new Moldies threads that are started, so please feel free to report them in case we miss any (what with wrapping the presents and all...)

And if you do want to carry on the discussion please remember that Mumsnet's here to make everyone's lives easier and not the reverse, and that Christmas is a time of goodwill to all mumsnetters past, present and future

Thanks,
MNHQ

Apologies all ..... just a rather belated response to CliffRichardSucksEggsInHell's post directed both at Mumsnetters and MNHQ (about 5ish this pm ) - Sorry Cliff, we didn't want you to think we were ignoring your post and we'll certainly be giving your suggestions some thought once Mumsnet Towers is back to full strength in the New Year...

Thanks all and please, carry on with the joking (nicely of course ), nostalgia and extra large thread building (and can we keep going with the peace and goodwill? pretty please? )

i do know an actual satanist

when i told another friend i was off to meet me for lunch, she almost cried, she thought he was going to abduct me and lure me into his evil web

lol @ that

we went to giraffe in guildford where he bought me lunch and engaged in frivolous conversation

i did ask him if he could get me a set of his satanic robes as a dressing gown though

ruty · 29/12/2008 23:31

why do i get the feeling i've turned up very late for a party...

lou33 · 29/12/2008 23:32

meet me? i mean meet him!

lovecat · 29/12/2008 23:33

boiled sausages?

No ta, but thanks for the offer...

LMAO @ winestein not being a satanist but working in traffic control

Rightyho, ladies (and Mr RJA), I have to go to work tomorrow so need my bed.

Goodnight all and thank you for the laughs

holidaywonk · 29/12/2008 23:34

ruty, I think you have to let it wash over you and not really expect it to make sense. Like a Peter Greenaway film or summat.

catinthehat1 · 29/12/2008 23:35

sensational! more brazil nuts! they must be for me!

SwedesInADirtyMacAndSunglasses · 29/12/2008 23:37

PW - LOL. Yes like the Mumsnetter, the Moldie, their Rev and her Lover.

holidaywonk · 29/12/2008 23:39

cat, your marvellous Young Ones post made me realise that the scripts probably hold up better than the actual programmes. Mayall and Edmondson are so overwhelming that the lines get a bit lost.

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 29/12/2008 23:40

We are all behaving as best we can under the circumstances, I think, Carrie. But for some reason (possibly relating to human nature), I feel immoderate just reading your post.

I worry that your exhortation might have precisely the same effect as a wedding DJ shouting "C'mon Everybardy! Let's have some Faaaaaaaaarn!"

ruty · 29/12/2008 23:41

think i'll have to pw Pan's Labyrinth is on telly you know people.

watch out for those charming middle class satanist lou. might go all rosamund's baby on you.

WilfSell · 29/12/2008 23:41

onebat, away now to your DH's Christmas obligations [jealous ]

winestein · 29/12/2008 23:42

Peter Greenaway? Far more uncomfortable... more like David Lynch. Or more Mild At Heart? But pmsl at ....the Rev and her Lover

Lovecat... Traffic Engineers are satanists by definition

NotanOtter · 29/12/2008 23:42

lol onebat

grrr at these pages

at my sons' school pages are a punishment !!

WilfSell · 29/12/2008 23:43

rofl at rosamund's baby [very good]

SwedesInADirtyMacAndSunglasses · 29/12/2008 23:45

Cat - We are clean out of brazil nuts but here's a gob stopper, with your name on it.

Quattrocento · 29/12/2008 23:45

Well lots to celebrate. The return of Winestein and JV and the cessation of hostilities with the Mouldies. I have a bottle of Shiraz newly opened, to go with your boiled sausages.

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 29/12/2008 23:47

Kineck. He appears to have gone orf the whole discharging thing.

NOw that's a lesson, ladies. Strike while the metaphorical iron is .. erm...hot.

holidaywonk · 29/12/2008 23:48

Mild at Heart

I think IB is your woman if you want to talk about David Lynch. I think he's a crazy person myself, and not in a good way...

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 29/12/2008 23:48

yes, Quattro.
Organized fun has caused me much pain, over the years.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 29/12/2008 23:49

some very insightful posts by MrJusta

obm, i think that's where/how I got my original precis wrong when ranting wildly last week. I missed the hoo ha on moldies that you were caught up in, but remember coming in at the end and asking what the hell was going on and making light of it (as I often do in serious situations )

I'd not been posting much on MN at the time either. Posted bits on the Baby P threads and two live webchat threads but mostly banal stuff really. I'm waffling now......

I'm sorry I've let you down SPB.

holidaywonk · 29/12/2008 23:49

discharging. charming.

NotanOtter · 29/12/2008 23:50

you WILL enjoy yourselves

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 29/12/2008 23:51

I think you;re right PW. David Lynch is a mentalist (misogynist?) whose aesthetic momentarily coincided with that of the rest of us.

Tralalalalah-lalalala.

holidaywonk · 29/12/2008 23:52

I AM ENJOYING MYSELF. I've got crisps and everything. What MORE do you people WANT from me?
