If you (still) feel the need to discuss Moldies, please do it here so folks can hide this if they want to.

Well hopefully the title says it all. There's been a suggestion, and we agree, that as we did with Baby P and the Mc Canns we just have one thread where anyone who feels they still have anything to add on this subject can post and those who'd rather move on can hide it away.

It feels strange to put this thread in site stuff as we are definitely not wanting to encourage further discussion of Moldies (we have presents to wrap too you know ) but we weren't sure where else to put it.

We will delete any new Moldies threads that are started, so please feel free to report them in case we miss any (what with wrapping the presents and all...)

And if you do want to carry on the discussion please remember that Mumsnet's here to make everyone's lives easier and not the reverse, and that Christmas is a time of goodwill to all mumsnetters past, present and future

Thanks,
MNHQ

right lets all stop

take stock for a minute

why would anyone come on MN and try and decipher who you are etc it has happened on only a couple of occasions and in cods case by someone who posted incredibly extensively and was idetifiable by much more than her name.
Are we all that interesting that people would spend lots of time trying to find out who we are? Honestly guys please don't worry too much unless you alreradfy post here the chances are folks are not as addicted to the www as we are.

lou33 · 28/12/2008 23:51

i wouldnt mind a private forum right now to discuss why i suddenly have that itchy regrowth factor after shaving, when i never normally do

or maybe i just have crabs?

or could it be connected to my red wine trauma?

TWINSETofbigfatcocks · 28/12/2008 23:52

Quad I am fascinating.

I think there are a few people who need to think carefully, I have been in that situation. Now as a teacher in a very straightlaced school I am not sure if I am.

Quadrophenia · 28/12/2008 23:53

bleurgghh that reads like the drunken rambling it is, but seriously isn't it highly unlikely that someone would a) read the article in the first place b) think ohh I wonder if so and so posts there c) do an extensove search to try and find out if yoyu are actually on here...it isn't easy and would take too much time and energy

ruty · 28/12/2008 23:53

arf at lou.

Freckle · 28/12/2008 23:53

Well, I didn't know about it, so it's entirely conceivable that I don't know about a number of other boards. But I'm not going to get my knickers in a twist about it. As long as I'm happy with what MN has to offer, it doesn't really matter does it?

Desiderata · 28/12/2008 23:54

If you have crabs, Lou, then I have lobsters.

Freckle · 28/12/2008 23:55

Oooh, a seafood thread. How refreshing.

lou33 · 28/12/2008 23:57

my mind os on overdrive after desis remark

lou33 · 28/12/2008 23:58

i cant have crabs, they would need something to cling onto

aside from the fact i am not that slack with my sexual health of course ....

VanessaParody · 29/12/2008 00:02

onebat - Neither Xenia, nor I, are famous but have both been identified in RL. Clearly, neither of us cares much as we're both still here. But posters can be found out (even if they don't have blogs and bandy their emails around).

Lots of MNers have posted birth stories with dates & places, joined in on 'where did you go to school?' threads, added themselves to the birthday list etc. That's a lot of personal info to go on.

TWINSETofbigfatcocks · 29/12/2008 00:03

Desi plunge yourself in boiling water it will kill the buggers, if you want to play safe get dh to wack you in the twat with a hammer.

But Xenia has been in the press about her life situation hasnt she so hardly a low profile person

Dont know about you Vanessa so can't comment

Desiderata · 29/12/2008 00:05

Lol @ Twinset

onebatmotherofgoditschilly · 29/12/2008 00:10

Hmm yes you're right VP (God, can I just say it again, I LOVE YOUR NAME!)
I've avoided those threads. I once posted the name of my music teacher, and amazingly someone (lovely) recognized me. But that's a slightly different thing.

I think if someone wanted to discover 'who eez theez warnbart? She eez amayzeeng and vazinayting...' They would probably find it quite hard.

Sorry, there's no reason that such a person would be foreign, other than the fact that someone who spoke the language fluently would not feel that way.

wigparty · 29/12/2008 00:11

Havent' read through all the posts ...

Jaysus, get a grip. All you Moldies who have left, you do realise you are pissing on the foundations of the fact that MN is supposed to be an open forum on which everyone can post? It's certainly not big or clever to set up a closed forum in which no one can disagree with you

For all those who are NOT Moldies - why are we giving this whole ridiculous subject airweb time???

I'd love to start a thread about the need to eat a pasta sandwich at past midnight, but it feels inappappropriate

TWINSETofbigfatcocks · 29/12/2008 00:13

wig would that be cold or hot pasta? Hot pasta I would say go ahead, cold is just sick, like eating a slug sandwich.

VanessaParody · 29/12/2008 00:14

desi - did a MNer send you the edible fungi book after your Russian Roulette mushroom adventure?

SwedesInADirtyMacAndSunglasses · 29/12/2008 00:14

Cold should be discussed in a closed forum.

JoolsToo · 29/12/2008 00:15

"a closed forum in which no one can disagree with you"

do you know of such a place?

VanessaParody · 29/12/2008 00:16

boak @ pasta sandwich. It's not right.

TWINSETofbigfatcocks · 29/12/2008 00:16

I am sure I would be deemed unworthy of such a place Jools, you need to speak to someone far wittier than us lot

lou33 · 29/12/2008 00:18

thank you for reassuring me desi

WilfSell · 29/12/2008 00:19

Sorry. Pasta sandwich? This is like the crisp sandwiches they serve at our nursery .

Carbohydrate is NOT a filling. Get thee to a nunnery woman.
