Well hopefully the title says it all. There's been a suggestion, and we agree, that as we did with Baby P and the Mc Canns we just have one thread where anyone who feels they still have anything to add on this subject can post and those who'd rather move on can hide it away.

It feels strange to put this thread in site stuff as we are definitely not wanting to encourage further discussion of Moldies (we have presents to wrap too you know ) but we weren't sure where else to put it.

We will delete any new Moldies threads that are started, so please feel free to report them in case we miss any (what with wrapping the presents and all...)

And if you do want to carry on the discussion please remember that Mumsnet's here to make everyone's lives easier and not the reverse, and that Christmas is a time of goodwill to all mumsnetters past, present and future

Thanks,
MNHQ

I agree in general hunker, but the Rev has a potentially sticky RL situation if people think she posted wot the Independent said she posted. Which she never.

yah agree it would be just a silly bit of nonsense were it not for Rev being dragged into it with someone else's norty quote

soapbox · 28/12/2008 17:53

But won't they just come here and read what the Rev did post, if they are interested, which to be fair don't reflect any better on her than what Dior said?

That's a rather unpleasant thing to post, soapbox. Anyway, there's a difference between taking responsibility for your own posts - whatever they might be - and taking responsibility for someone else's.

soapbox · 28/12/2008 17:59

I certainly didn't mean to be unpleasant, just can't see why Dior's comment is any worse than the one's that she wrote?

SaintGeorge · 28/12/2008 18:01

Funny how people are suddenly coming over all coy because of crappily ripped off quotes in a newspaper.

Perhaps a little circumspection before posting on a public forum in the first place would have been more apt.

well displaying your job title in your name rev, gives you sod all anonymity and you were a very frequent contributor to the debacle discussion.
It might appear to an outside Observer (or Guardian/sun/daily mail) that you enjoy the infamy no?

How the hell I typed that while desperately preventing wee dribbling out while choking after Dottterels classic post is anyones guess.

soapbox · 28/12/2008 18:02

God this flu is really buggering up my typing!

That would be 'ones' without the stray apostrophe!

HowFunnyISThis · 28/12/2008 18:03

Umm 'Rev' if everything that you post on here is true then that actually makes you very easily identifiable.

A quick bit of googling and I found out who you are.

Is it really such a good plan to continue to post under your username AND to post your email address?

Yes, quite, Rev.

I got the impression that Rev was posting very carefully, and weighing her words judiciously. It's bloody irritating, if you are a careful poster, to have someone else's words attributed to you.

cornsilk · 28/12/2008 18:04

I've also weed my pants after reading Dotterel's post. I keep going back to read it again. Another knicker change.

soapbox · 28/12/2008 18:04

I didn't read Dior's post as defamatory, unkind or unreasonable either though Rev.

Just an emotional outburst, being sad about Moldies.

I'm sorry rev, did I address my post to you personally?

I was referring to quite a few reactions I have seen on MN today actually, but as you seem to want to personalise this whole ridiculous thing, do carry on.

What is your Mumsnet role, please?

Isn't it "poster"?
