How many Mumsnetters work in hospitals as nurses or doctors (or meet hospital in-patients in one way or another)?

We've been asked if we could do a survey amongst hospital staff who are parents - and before we can commit we need to know roughly how many Mumsnetters work in hospitals and come into regular contact with in-patients (ie not admin staff).

So if you are a hospital doctor/nurse or regularly come into contact with in-patients, please let us know and if you don't mind saying what you do that would be even more helpful (but don't feel to have to).

Thanks

I'm a medical secretary (PA to a consultant psychiatrist). I have to go on the ward rounds and so come into contact with in-patients.

Snaf · 10/11/2008 13:57

You can be "admin" and still come into contact with in patients.

I'm not clinical, I'm a bed manager and work on an in patient unit. Do I count?

GreenMonkies · 10/11/2008 15:20

I'm a Radiographic Support Worker, I deal with both in-patients and out-patients on a daily basis.

I know I'm neither a Dr or a Nurse, but, as we Professions Allied to Medicine (Physio's, OT's, Radiographers, Phlebotomists, Speech Therapists, Dietitians, Pharmacists and Audiologists, and of course the Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants that are found in each ward and department) make up at least as much of the staff (if not more!) of most hospitals as Dr's & Nurses, will I do?

fleximum · 10/11/2008 15:21
