Is sockpuppeting allowed?

A poster on an active/popular thread outed her sockpuppet very blatantly. I reported it and several others on the thread said they had, but nothing has been done. Does this mean sockpuppeting is okay?

Hi there @ChonkyRabbit . Thanks for flagging this. We did investigate at the time and banned the sockying accounts there, so thanks for the report. It looks like we left the thread to stand at the time so to save any confusion we've now posted and closed the thread to new posts.
