Blogs - Tamsin from the Telegraph would love to know your thoughts on them

Tamsin from the Telegraph has mailed this eve (oblivious it seems to the pain we're going through after the evil Drogba stole our rightful spot in the final to end all finals) to ask us some questions about blogs and because we're very depressed and generally clueless, we wondered if we could pick your brains?

In short: If you read blogs, Why do you read them? (Is is purely for entertainment, or do you read them as an information source too?) Which type of blogs do you return to again and again, and why?
Is there anything that you find a real switch-off on a blog?
What do you get out of writing a blog?

If you'd like to talk to Tamsin directly then do give her a shout
Tamsin Kelly

Otherwise please post your thoughts here.

Where do people find the time (or the inclination sometimes) to read blogs, I bearly have the time to read a newspaper.

TBH - the ones I have read I have found dreadfully boring. I could have been looking in the wrong place but they don't seem to enhance my life in any way. I can't quite see the point of reading ' a day in the life of a complete stranger'. Maybe I've missed the point or not read the right blogs, but I just don't get it?

cardy, i think if it is on a subject that's of interest, you make time. i don't watch much tv, i chose to catch up on other craft blogs in the evenings instead. it then inspires me to get on with my own design work and i can get a good 2-3 hour stint done in an evening, much more productive than if i went downstairs and watched telly, i'd fall asleep within about 20 mins

agentsdiary.blogspot.com/

Top quality.

I don't read many blogs because the quality of the writing puts me off.

Secret Agent's blog (an anonymous Estate Agent) is ascerbic, sacastic, occasionally touching and well written.

It reminds me of James Heriot in a way; each post is self-contained as another wee story It's a contrast to bloggers who just let their brain dribble non-sequiters about their life into the keyboard.

Trauma Queen (an ambulance tech's blog) is also absolutely excellent and really makes you appreciate the emergency services much much more.

Justabout This and this are good evangelical starting points. Follow their link sections and you'll get a fairly broad cross-section of theology views. You might like the try The Boar's Head Tavern blog for some interesting debates.
