Probably a stupid question but .....

I'm pretty new to Mumsnet and I've noticed, especially recently, lots of posts have been removed. What is it that generally prompts this ? I'm not remotely rude or racist and always try to be polite and non judgemental, but I'm a bit concerned that if I accidentally say the wrong thing I may be banned ...am I being silly asking this ?

Posts that have been deleted are those that break MNHQ's Talk Guidelines which are here

In general, as long as you're not personally attacking anyone, or posting racist/homophobic/ablist/sexist/misogynistic/ageist stuff, you should be fine!

Pretty much what @BIWI said 😁

@MollyWoppitt if you have any questions about a specific deletion or anything else about using the site - just let us know.

@BIWI and @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet ...thank you for your speedy responses 😁

Many of us have been around for years without incurring many deletions.

Do read the guidelines. One of the less obvious reasons for deletions is trollhunting - if you think a poster isn't above board then report it and let MNHQ decide.

You're welcome, @MollyWoppitt. It's also pretty unusual that we'd ban someone following one deletion - and you'd definitely hear from us long before it got to that stage.
