Hello Tech. Please can we have a 'yawn' emoticon?

Or a 'can anyone actually hear me?' expression?

You know, for the threads where you have said the same thing very politely several times, and you still don't seem to be getting through to people.

Or we could have an automatic post facility, which reads 'I am not able to respond to this thread any further, as I am currently banging my head against my keyboard in a firm and repetitive manner'.

Thank you.

Yes, I would like a banging my head in frustration emoticon too

Pixiefish · 13/01/2008 08:26

that would be fab

Hecate · 13/01/2008 08:41

NO no no no no no to the Yawn emoticon.

Can you imagine the CARNAGE??!!

Someone starts a thread, and everyone piles in with the yawning and the banging. Then the op gets the huff on and begins the Don't read if you don't want to, or hide the thread.
Countered by I'll post where I want to.
Not if you've got nothing to add, why just post a yawn?
because you're boring,
well it might be boring to you but it matters to me.
Well YOU'RE boring.
How dare you, fuck off.
Don't tell me to fuck off, it's a public forum.
Well stay off my thread.

Boden. Can't we all be friends? No. I hate Cod. I love cod. This is bullying.

No it's not.
Yes it is.
No it's not.

don't tell us to stop a discussion.
I'm going to ask for this thread to be deleted it is not in the spirit of mumsnet.

I'm leaving this board, you're all a bunch of bitches.

6 months later someone starts a thread about it, but won't tell the story, just hints. All the 'oldies' start making in-jokes and all the newbies get cross.

And all over a thread entitled Should I Wallpaper My Living Room Or Paint The Walls?

Can someone actually start that wallpaper thread and see what happens?

keeptakingthetablets · 13/01/2008 09:04

That post should be cut & pasted onto the initial registration page

Walnutshell · 13/01/2008 09:12

I think I've recently posted on that wallpaper thread - they exist

MrsCarrot · 13/01/2008 09:22

lol at the oldies making in-jokes while the newbies get cross, sounds like a song lyric.

Wifi · 13/01/2008 09:27

I think it's very impolite & ignorant to do this online, so no, I don't think that you should have one.

I mean someone was excitedly showing me their holiday photos recently and I lost the will to live halfway through, but I would not have dreamt of putting my hand to my mouth and proffering a pretend yawn.

How rude.

nutcracker · 13/01/2008 09:29

I agree that a yawn emoticon would be rude. Someone actually said Yawn in response to something I posted once, and it did upset me.

If someone reads something that they are fed up of hearing about or whatever then they should just move along and not post.

kittywise · 13/01/2008 09:37

Yes yawn is rude but banging head on wall in frustration is not.

ssd · 13/01/2008 09:39

agree with nutcracker
