??

eventually, i would possibly be looking at this as a part time job, but that would be a long way off, but for now i need faces to practise on.

is that ok?

they wouldn't mind surely, a good place to start is at the school christmas fair

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 14/11/2007 20:40

we do the school fayre there are always more children than you'd expect, you could assist her by just doing the bases. (she'd probably be pleased for the help)

when i started luckily it was during the world cup and the george's cross is easy to begin with

MrsWeasley · 14/11/2007 20:45

our face painters are always busy at our infants school they start doing the older school aged ones at lunch time and work solidly through until 5pm.
We have a team and have to have a rota but always have atleast 3 mums working.

I'm pretty sure the ones in your school would love a hand (even for an hour) if not your are welcome to our fayre in December

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 14/11/2007 20:46

ok, the xmas fayre letters came home this week so will offer then.

am hoping my new kit arrives this week. [droools]

i used to practise on my sisters.i took photos of each face and made into book to show children choices of what i could do,much nicer than a shop brought book.i used to do it once a week for air ambulance and atleast 2 parties a month.great fun.
ask any local charitys if theyve any events coming up theyd like free facepainter for.

Lots of sparkles go down well - and I reckon I'm going to get a lot more electric colours (I said some fab simple painting at the weekend). www.facepaintingdesigns.co.uk/ this website has good designs to copy in the gallery. Spiderman is easy and practise butterflies (hard to look good) and princesses (look like drag queens if yoiu're not careful)

Good Luck!!

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 14/11/2007 21:18

yes, i need more sparkles.

i have a feeling i'm going to be asking my sisters if i can paint their kids this weekend lol.

OP posts:
ninja · 14/11/2007 21:27

The pictures on your profile look fab!!

Oh yes - I like the irridescent powder as well as sparkles

The professional face painters I saw used a spray bottle to wet the paint which seemed such a good idea and a lot less messy.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 14/11/2007 21:29

yes, have been using a spray at the course i've been doing.

just tried to do my own face in the mirror, now i know why io am cr*p at putting on make up lol.

Nah go on, you're alright. (Scouse speak that).

Don't forget to promote MN to all your future customers (we've got leaflets if you want some?)

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 14/11/2007 21:31

when/if i go into business i promise to put a link to this site on the flyers

OP posts:
moljam · 14/11/2007 21:31

have either of your dc got one of those dolls heads you do make up on?
i didnt know you could do facepainting course!

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 14/11/2007 21:32

no, no 'girls world style' heads here. not even that freaky horses head that was the must have item a few years ago (how freaky was that thing?)

OP posts:
southeastastra · 14/11/2007 21:34

practice blending and drawing fine lines on your hand so you can find the right brushes

moljam · 14/11/2007 21:34

lol.my mum brought a dolls head one,a bratz head one and a horse head for dd all within a year-they are all hidden in back of cupboard!horrible things but maybe better than grabbing passing children in street to facepaint

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 14/11/2007 21:36

send one this way lol.

OP posts:
southeastastra · 14/11/2007 21:37
