Would there be any plans for a specific chat area for Mumsnetters of colour? The recent events around BLM have highlighted that there are huge issues for women of colour and it can be extremely draining for our mental health. There are issues specific to black women such as the disparity in maternal mortality. Often, threads about racism are de-railed by people insisting that racism doesn't exist because they haven't seen it, or that women have to put up with sexism too... It would be good to have a space for people to debate in a constructive way about their experience of racism, challenges they face at work or in society... The multicultural parents section is aimed at families and so doesn't tend to get much discussion

Hi OP,

This does sound like it could be a good idea. As always, if there's enough interest and we can see that a new topic is going to be busy enough to be sustainable we'll happily look into it.

Do you think you could start a thread about this in Chat, perhaps, so we can get a bit more of a feeling for how much interest there would be in a board like this and, specifically, what sorts of discussions it would be useful to have there and how people would like to see it work? It's sometimes a bit quiet over here in Site Stuff but the idea is on our radar now. If we can get some idea of how much a board like this would be used etc that would be really helpful.

Thanks for bringing it up!
