Hi all

Would you like to come to Kentish Town, London this Friday 4th October to take part in a study about the Mumsnet site? If so, please sign up below!

Sign up here

For the study, which will take around 15-20 mins, you'll be asked to try out a prototype we've made and provide us with your feedback.

If you're selected we'll be in touch in the next few days so please keep an eye out for an email.

Thanks!

Are all travel expenses and associated expenses like car parking paid? (Outside of London).

Rubicon80 · 30/09/2019 20:14

Hi, I'm nearby, available that day, and would be happy to come in principle, but please could you let us know what the incentive is? Thanks.

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 30/09/2019 20:21

Will you have a number of time slots throughout the day? I might sign up, depending on this. I can't give up a whole day to it.

zeddybrek · 30/09/2019 20:23

I am free for some parts of the day and within 30 mins on the tube.

tigerbear · 30/09/2019 21:22

What @Rubicon80 said.
I think you’d probably get more people signing up if you at least offered something:
Travel expenses / Voucher / refreshments etc
Expecting people just to take time out of their day, spend time getting across London (unless you only want a TINY demographic), for a 20 min thing for free just seems really off kilter to me.

Pinkyyy · 30/09/2019 21:50

I feel like they're trying to make visiting MNHQ the incentive.

Javagrey · 01/10/2019 01:31

Why not put it online for people to try and at leastoffer an incentive. Trekking across London for 20 mins, hanging around, and no incentive is not appealing

Hundredacrewoods · 01/10/2019 02:58

Why on earth can’t this be done from home? Why would anyone spend their own time and money travelling for MN’s commercial benefit?

SoVeryLost · 01/10/2019 08:09

Like above, what times?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 01/10/2019 09:47

I think you will need to provide some type of incentive to get people in @MumsnetHQ, at the every least travel expenses. Afraid to say that a visit to MN HQ is not incentive enough. On a Friday too???

Weezol · 01/10/2019 18:26

No - I'd like you to answer the repeated questions about the inconsistency of moderation on the site.

BIWI · 01/10/2019 21:47

Obviously I have no idea about your prototype, but I'm pretty shocked (as a researcher) that you think that 15-20 minutes will be enough time to give you sufficient, considered feedback.

youngestisapsycho · 02/10/2019 13:42

What is the prototype... more info needed before being able to commit to coming along?

ShirleyPhallus · 02/10/2019 13:44

Can’t believe they posted this on Monday, asking for volunteers for 4 days later and haven’t come back to the thread to answer any questions Grin

MN you have not come across well on this. It’s now Wednesday night, you want volunteers on Friday, and you haven’t returned to the thread to answer reasonable questions

Trews2019 · 03/10/2019 02:19

Presumably because enough people have signed up already via the link above.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/10/2019 07:02

For a business MN does rely one helluva lot on 'goodwill' from MNetters.

RebeccaSMumsnet · 03/10/2019 09:49

Hi all thanks for the feedback, we've had a rethink and you can now take part in this study from home. Here's the link if you're interested.

There's no incentive on this occasion, and in terms of timings there are hourly slots available from 11am - 6pm. In the sign up form you can choose which time slots you'd prefer.

@RebeccaSMumsnet MN made over £2m profit last year. Don't you think it's a bit exploitative to ask your users to do beta testing on your site for nothing?

BIWI · 03/10/2019 16:31

No incentive? For people giving up their time to take part in your research? You cannot be serious @RebeccaSMumsnet! It's market research best practice to incentivise participants.
