Where can I complain about a thread being removed?

I know it is against TOS to start a thread about a thread in AIBU, but is it ok here? The thread in question was about Meghan Markle that has just been pulled in the last few minutes by @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet
Why not just close the thread to further comments? I don't understand why it needs to be deleted. As a PP said in that thread, people who have made such bullying and nasty comments about Meghan should have to have their posts remain and remain on their account so people can know who they are and see what they've written.

And while it was not 'in the spirit', many of the replies certainly were.
Indeed, a lot of the rebuttals to the internalised misogyny/racism are great replies and food for thought, are salutary lessons - many women could do with having those replies left so others can see and learn. A poster posted the following, only two posts before Mumsnet deleted the thread. First line is quite ironic, unfortunately, and I hope reading this will start a change in the mindset of Mumsnet mods who feel the need to delete every thread they feel 'isn't in the spirit' instead of just closing it to further comments while leaving many salutary replies up.

^"I’m glad the MM threads aren’t deleted as it shows some posters up for what they are. Any lurker can see through their comments to the underlying causes which are a mixed bag of jealousy, misogyny, inferiority complex and racism.

I think it’s also good to expose that women also internalise misogyny and some are more misogynistic than many men ((Sarah Vine/Samantha Brick). We see and hear the same sexist messages as men so why would all of us be immune to it? Of course many are conditioned to hate other women and try to tear them down.

It’s the same with any group which isn’t white MC, heterosexual men. We’re taught to pit ourselves against each other for crumbs whilst wealthy white men have most of the cake. What does it take for the police to investigate a rich white man like Prince Andrew? Epstein, a convicted peado was pretty much placed under house arrest as opposed to life in super max. How do you think a poor black woman would fare under the same charges/accusations?

Let the MM threads stay up and live forever in cyberspace as a study on cyber bullying and the societal reasons behind it."^

Hello @SaraNade - thanks for posting, and we do see your point. For the most part, we find that leaving threads like this to stand only serves to encourage more of the same. There is value in having problematic opinions challenged on the boards - and perhaps someone may change their view because of it - but at the same time, we're iffy about threads which appear to single out one person for criticism - especially when these threads appear on a regular basis.

If a user is continually reported for bullying and nasty comments, then we will deal with them off the boards and will likely ban them from the site.
