Just been reported to surf control as i clicked a link within a thread about style. What is the etiquette here if any about posting links?

Carmenere · 31/05/2007 11:42

They are just skimpy pants, I wouldn't judge that as adult content.

itbird · 31/05/2007 11:43

I'll tell my manager that then, very strict here, cant even buy knickers from figleave!!

blocked here as well, though doubt if anyone will slap my wrists for me.

itbird · 31/05/2007 11:45

Its where the IT department limit the sites that you can access, anything remotely dodgy, even buying knickers is not allowed and you are given a severe telling off!!

I see , thought it may be something like that.I had a friend who worked for the Met and they used to even scan e mails for naughty words.
To be honest though even if there was an etiquette of warning of adult content I wouldn't of thought to put it on this.
Hope you don't get told of to much

JackieNo · 31/05/2007 11:51

Sorry - I think that was my link - I just did a search on the name of the item, and didn't look at the site that came up at all. I'll make sure to be more careful in future.

itbird · 31/05/2007 12:05

Yeah will be fine,thanks

Banana - DW had the same thing at her work. She's a solicitor and their IT dept banned all emails containing any swear words. Unfortunately, this meant that mails containing court proceedings which often contain swear words from defendants / police etc. were also not making it through... Durrr!

HandyTrinkett · 06/06/2007 16:45

why not prefix links with NSFW if it's not suitable for work?

NSFW www.naughtywebsite.com/with/rude/images

gives people fair warning....
