Why can't we AS this any more?

Up until last week I could work out how many posts had been deleted, both for myself and for posters who might have been, erm, slightly questionable.

Now AS won't let me search by poster name + "message deleted by" any more.

Is there a reason for this? Because it seems to me (cynical as I am) that it's a very useful way to hide how many posts are deleted by certain MRAs goady posters in FWR

Hi everyone! We're getting a few reports that this thread has become unusually bad-tempered for a Site Stuff post, so we have made some deletions. It's hot enough out there at the moment!
We've referred this to Tech and will get back to you. AS has been broken for months now, we field questions to them all the time and they can't quite seem to nail it, so it might be an unintended consequence of some backroom fiddling. They may in fact be delighted and surprised to hear that until recently you were able to use it for deletions, Maryz!
