'Is it OK to take my kids out of school for a holiday? holidays are more educational than a week in school anyway'

But i always get sucked in., And my Blood Pressure rises alarmingly!

OP posts:
bossykate · 04/05/2007 15:00

any thread which seems to imply that faith schools are somehow more unfair than any of the other distortions in the education system...

niceglasses · 04/05/2007 15:01

Its the ' I saw a women in Sainsburys giving her child UNPAID for banana chips and NOT talking to them constantly in educational type way' which get me gander up.

I have been mildly successful in staying away lately.

I actively avoid relationship problem threads because my 'tell him to piss off and get some self-esteem' advice probably wouldn't go down to well.

Can't resist poo threads!

WigWamBam · 04/05/2007 15:03

I steer well clear of any thread that's likely to get even the slightest bit contentious these days. Breast v bottle and SAHM v WOHM always used to have me hyperventilating, turning green and throwing things at the monitor, so I don't even click on them now.

I can't stop myself clicking on fat-bashing threads though. And they always get my dander up.

niceglasses · 04/05/2007 15:04

oh yeah, its dander not gander innit? Getting me geese mixed up.

tortoiseSHELL · 04/05/2007 15:07

For me it's the fussy eating ones where some people suggest that fussy eating is purely a manifestation of indulgent parenting and that quote 'no child has ever starved themselves to death'.

Mercy · 04/05/2007 15:10

LOL niceglasses!!

Same here, tortoiseshell. Also threads re VB/size zero/skinny people.

Manictigger · 04/05/2007 15:14

aibu ones because more facts always come out as the thread gets longer, but some people only read the OP, and so then people end up arguing about things which did or didn't happen, then someone takes offence...... honestly I wish I'd never noticed that topic but I always get drawn in like a moth to a flame.

MrsBadger · 04/05/2007 15:21

people who want to buy something esoteric

hours I've wasted on Google, hours.

bossykate · 04/05/2007 17:48

apeainapod · 04/05/2007 18:00

DHofOlihan · 04/05/2007 18:05

Anything teacher or schools bashing for me toou - even dh gets sucked in sometimes!

bossykate · 04/05/2007 18:06

oops this one is turning into one i should stay off!

Boco · 04/05/2007 18:09

The 'You're all shit' and 'I don't get MN you wankers' threads. The same arguments go round in circles, I know i'd be better off doing pretty much anything, but somehow i get hooked.

MrsShrek · 04/05/2007 18:10

anything too controversial. Im everything the perfect mother HATES!!!! but my boys love me n thats all that matters! lmao

whats aibu mean?

Olihan · 04/05/2007 18:11

See, I told him to change my name if he ws going to start getting stroppy and he has! Time for him to join under his own name I think!

nightowl · 04/05/2007 18:12

council housing and benefit threads, (freeloading off the state and all that innit?). tis like a red rag to a bull. Have been known to sit and cry in frustration afterwards. a sad life i lead.

MrsShrek · 04/05/2007 18:18

nightowl is that because you are on benefits or hate those that are? IM just curious!

hayes · 04/05/2007 18:23

any thread that says along the lines of ~~ stop him from seeing the kids, they are better off not seeing him etc etc, he can start seeing them again when he does as you want him to.~~ totally unreasonable and shows women to be the bitches they can be to men when they use their kids as weapons and bargaining tools.......

can you tell how much this works me up??
