Did the doctor ever come back and answer questions about the antibiotics. I have never seen it and I did post a question.

If you look at the original thread from December, MNHQ has posted a link to a new Q&A page www.mumsnet.com/health/antibiotics-your-questions-answered. I don't know whether any of those questions were one of yours? Although I'm guessing that they amalgamated a number of Qs to form the Q&A page.

Thanks pan.

That's really helpful Pan thanks for sharing the link.

We just want to chip in and say while we're regularly amazed by some of the excellent advice and support offered on Mumsnet, there's really no substitute for proper medical attention - we'd never want to discourage anyone from seeing a real life doctor if they think they may be unwell.

That's because we obviously can't be 100% sure if poster are who they claim to be so we'd always advice seeing a doctor in real life.

I quite understand your disclaimer, Fliss, but the thread that madeyemoodysmum was referring to was this one www.mumsnet.com/Talk/sponsored_qas/3113674-Ask-Dr-Jyoti-Sood-your-questions-about-when-antibiotics-are-needed-and-the-threat-of-antibiotic-resistance-to-your-family-chance-to-win-300-voucher where questions were going to be answered by a real GP who had agreed to be a 'guest expert' for MN. It didn't appear that the thread was intended to be a substitute for seeing one's own GP, just a series of different Qs about ABs in general.

Hi Again Pan - so sorry; that's our mistake. We've had such a lot of reports lately about worrying or negligent advice being given (and sometimes taken) on health threads that we've got a bit trigger happy with the real life health warnings! Apologies and thanks for setting us straight.
