Renaming a topic?

Hi MNHQ
Would you consider renaming the Special Needs topic to Additional Needs?
I have two children with additional needs, and I have a few friends with children with additional needs and this does seem to be the preferred term.
I could be wrong though.
It is just my preference.
See what others say, I may get a roasting

My son currently has additional needs (which I call additional needs not special) but as he's only 12 weeks and the additional needs are temporary I don't think I'm qualified to have any say.

I don't like special needs or additional needs, and I wouldn't use either when talking about my DS.

I think that disability is a better term.

I prefer additional to special needs and disability.

I prefer disability. My ds does not have additional needs he has a disability. If others don't like that then special needs is more appropriate. Additional needs dies not cover DS. He doesn't have additional needs, his needs aren't additional to "normal" needs, they are just different because of his disability. So please don't change this.

Interesting, so far people are preferring 'disability' to both 'special needs' and 'additional needs'.

I just don't like special needs as I don't see what's special about them, sorry, but they're bloody hard work at times, not special. They are additional to others needs, that's why I say additional. But yes to disability.
