Just a big gushy thank you to MN from NomDePlume.......

I've been on MN for just under 18 months now (albeit with a few name changes along the way) and I just want to say a big 'Thanks' to Mumsnet.

I live in an area which I moved to as an adult, so therefore I didn't have any friends locally in the early days. Soon after moving here I became preg with DD and left work, most of the friends from there faded fast once I'd left.

I'm sure most of you will agree that it can be tough making new friends without feeling like a stalker . Especially if you are a SAHM. I've made a few good friends through DH and I wouldn't be without them, but it's not quite the same.

MN introduced me to 2 lovely MN'ers - GeorginaA & Ailsa, and since then I'd like to think that we've become firm friends (back me up here guys !!). I'd like to think that both Ailsa & Georgina would feel like they could turn to me for help etc as well as a laugh and a bit of light relief (ooo-er!).

So at the risk of sounding gushy , I'd like to say one more big 'THANK YOU' to MN for my lovely new friends

Sorry, Georgina, I meant to put your name in that last para

Well you're trendier than me!! Okay, so that isn't hard, but still

You are officially bad for my Barclaycard balance, I'm SOOOOOO tempted to stock up on some of the halterneck type tops I've been eyeing up for ages. Also saw quite a few pairs of shoes and boots I fancy.... Best not though as I've just bought 3 new pairs of shoes (shhhhhhhhhhh).

In fact my parcels came today - a couple of Shrek 2 goodies for DD's 2nd birthday and a pair of new wedges. DH saw the parcel and said 'Oooh, what's in here ?!', I muttered 'shoes' quietly under my breath and he went a tiny bit ape.... Best not tell him that there's another 2 pairs and a couple of outfits to come, eh ?!

I'M bad for YOUR credit card?! I think dh wants some words with you next time we're all together

(don't worry, only joking ... but he was muttering something about taking on a few more contracts before I go down a clothing size...)

ROFL G !!!! Bless 'im. I'm sure an hour spent with my DH will convince him he has it easy, what with my 8+ pushchair, clothes and shoes fetishes ! Apparently I'm a liability, although he's much happier to let me get away with more things now that I'm the 'designated driver' ! Lol.

WWW - I'm sure it'll catch up with me one day. I wish my body looked as young as my brain seems to think I am. 12 Bacardi's is not good when you've got to go to work the next day. Gone are the days when I could go clubbing 'til 3am, then still get to work for 8.30.

Back to NDP's original post though, it's great to have friends not related to work. As NDP said, those 'friends' tend to drift away.

There was no white trouser man on Thursday. He just got a mention when talking about another club in Worcester. I guarantee that white trouser man will put in an appearance on our next night out, if we're sticking with the same venue as discussed.
